About Maneesh Media
Maneesh Media is a publication house specialising in coffee-table books, biographies, personalised books, legacy publications and premium editorial projects . Our books combine storytelling, editorial content and high-quality visual design to create publications that are designed to become lasting keepsakes.
We are looking for an experienced Graphic Designer with a strong background in printing, publication design and team management .
About the Role
This is not a conventional digital graphic-design position .
We are looking for someone who understands the complete process of taking a book from content and design to final printed output .
The ideal candidate will have 8–10+ years of professional experience , preferably in book publishing, printing, newspapers, magazines or another print-intensive industry.
You should be highly proficient in Adobe InDesign and understand how design decisions affect the final printed product — including paper quality, colour reproduction, image quality, typography, layout, finishing and pre-press requirements.
Most importantly, you should have the experience to look at a design on screen and understand what it will actually look like once it comes out of the printer .
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop coffee-table books, biographies, personalised books and premium publications .
- Handle complete book layouts using Adobe InDesign .
- Translate editorial content, photographs and other source material into visually compelling book pages.
- Prepare artwork that is technically correct and ready for print.
- Review designs from both a creative and print-production perspective .
- Understand and manage CMYK, colour profiles, bleed, margins, resolution, image quality, print-ready PDFs and pre-press requirements .
- Understand different paper qualities, finishes and printing processes , and anticipate their impact on the final output.
- Coordinate with printers and production teams to resolve design and printing issues.
- Identify potential production problems before files are sent for printing.
- Maintain design consistency, quality and visual standards across complete books.
- Work closely with the editorial/content team to ensure that the design supports the story and content.
- Handle multiple book projects and ensure timely completion of assigned work.
- Stay updated with the latest developments in Adobe Creative Cloud, InDesign and AI-based design tools .
Design Team Management Team management is an essential part of this role.
The candidate will be expected to manage not only their own design work but also the work of the design team.
Responsibilities will include
- Planning and allocating work among designers.
- Setting priorities and monitoring project timelines.
- Tracking the progress of multiple books and design assignments.
- Reviewing team members' work before final submission.
- Maintaining consistency in design quality and production standards.
- Guiding junior and mid-level designers when required.
- Identifying errors, bottlenecks and delays and taking corrective action.
- Ensuring that deadlines are met without compromising design or print quality.
- Coordinating with Editorial, Content, Production and Management teams.
- Taking ownership of the team's overall output rather than only individual assignments.
We are looking for someone who can lead the design function operationally , not just someone who can execute designs. Required Experience & Skills
- Minimum 10–12 years of professional graphic-design experience.
- Strong and proven experience in print and publication design .
- Significant experience in book design and book production .
- Excellent command of Adobe InDesign .
- Strong working knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator.
- Thorough understanding of pre-press and print-production processes .
- Practical understanding of paper qualities, paper finishes and their effect on printed colour and images.
- Strong understanding of typography, page composition, image placement and visual hierarchy.
- Ability to assess whether a design will reproduce correctly in physical print.
- Experience working with printers and resolving production-related issues.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Strong team-management, task-planning and coordination skills .
- Good communication and problem-solving abilities.
Candidates from These Backgrounds Are Encouraged to Apply We particularly encourage applications from professionals who have worked in:
- Book publishing
- Printing and print production

AI & Modern Design Tools The candidate should be comfortable working with the evolving design ecosystem and should actively use AI tools to improve design workflows and productivity .
You should
- Have practical experience with relevant AI-based design and image-generation tools.
- Understand where AI can genuinely improve the design process.
- Stay updated with changes in Adobe Creative Cloud and other design technologies.
- Be willing to continuously learn and adopt new tools and workflows.
What We Are Looking For We are looking for a professional who understands that good print design is more than making a page look attractive on a computer screen .
You should understand the complete chain:
Content → Design → Pre-Press → Paper → Printing → Final Physical Book
You should have the judgement to anticipate how a design will behave in print, the technical knowledge to prevent production issues, and the management ability to ensure that your team delivers quality work within deadlines.
Selection Process
Our selection process consists of the following stages:
1. Time-Bound Assessment – Round 1
Shortlisted candidates will be given a time-bound practical assessment to evaluate their design skills, creativity, layout understanding and ability to work within a defined deadline.

4. Telephonic Interview A final telephonic discussion will be conducted to evaluate overall suitability, experience, expectations and role alignment.
5. Final Hiring
Candidates who successfully transparent all stages will be considered for the final offer.

Salary
Up to ₹60,000 per month , depending on relevant experience, technical expertise, book-printing knowledge and management capabilities.
If you understand both design and printing, can manage a design team, and know how to turn editorial content into a high-quality physical book, we would like to hear from you.
