Role Description

This is a full-time remote role for a Generative AI Engineer at The Agentic Loop. The Generative AI Engineer will design, build, and deploy agentic and generative AI systems, including prototypes, production-ready services, and tools used in educational programs and content. Day-to-day responsibilities include researching state-of-the-art models, experimenting with LLMs and multimodal systems, developing prompts, workflows, and agent architectures, and integrating APIs and external tools into AI-powered applications.

The role involves collaborating with content and program teams to create practical demos, reference implementations, and learning materials,



as well as maintaining and improving performance, reliability, and safety of AI systems. The engineer will also document best practices, contribute to internal frameworks, and participate in conversations and experiments that shape how the agent age is communicated to the broader audience.

Qualifications

- Solid software engineering skills, including proficiency in Python and experience building backend services or tools for production environments.
- Hands-on experience with modern generative AI and LLM ecosystems (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, open-source models), including prompt engineering, fine-tuning, and evaluation.
- Familiarity with agentic AI patterns such as tool use, orchestration frameworks, and multi-step workflows (e.g., LangChain, LlamaIndex, custom agent frameworks).
- Knowledge of machine learning fundamentals, model lifecycle, and responsible AI practices (e.g., data handling, bias awareness, safety, and security considerations).
- Ability to design clear, maintainable technical artifacts: documentation, example repos, tutorials, and reference implementations for engineers and non-experts.
- Experience working in remote, asynchronous environments with strong communication, collaboration, and self-management skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent practical experience; prior work on production GenAI systems is highly preferred.
