About the Role

We are looking for a seasoned SAP PS/PPM Functional Consultant to join an enterprise SAP transformation initiative on a freelance contract basis .

The ideal consultant will have robust hands-on experience with SAP Project Systems (PS), SAP Portfolio & Project Management (PPM), Commercial Project Management (CPM), and Asset Accounting , preferably within the Construction, Energy, or Utilities industry.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead functional activities across the end-to-end capital portfolio and project lifecycle , including:
- Portfolio buckets and items
- Project initiation
- Cost estimation and budgeting
- Project execution, cost, schedule and risk management
- WBS settlement
- Asset capitalization
- Configure SAP PPM – Portfolio Management, Project Management, and Financial Planning .
- Customize and support PPM/PS RICEFW objects , workflows, approval processes, reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements and forms.
- Integrate SAP PPM with PS, FI/CO, HR and SAP S/4HANA .
- Support integration with SAP BTP, Fiori applications and/or SAP Integration Suite (IS) .
- Lead/participate in unit testing, integration testing and UAT .
- Troubleshoot and resolve functional issues during implementation and testing.
- Prepare detailed functional plans for the PPM workstream and contribute to the overall project plan.
- Work across Master Data, Procurement,



Services/Equipment and Asset Management integrations.
- Provide functional guidance to technical teams and support scalable solution design.

SAP Security & Governance

- Design role-based access controls (RBAC) and SAP authorization concepts.
- Define and manage roles, profiles and authorizations across SAP S/4HANA and integrated systems .
- Support SOX compliance, Segregation of Duties (SoD), audit requirements and risk mitigation .
- Collaborate with security and audit teams on security testing, remediation and compliance reporting.

Required Skills

- Strong hands-on experience in SAP PS
- Strong experience in SAP PPM
- Experience with SAP CPM and Asset Accounting
- Strong knowledge of SAP S/4HANA
- Cross-module integration with FI/CO, HR, Procurement and Asset Management
- Experience with PPM/PS RICEFW, workflows, reporting and approvals
- Experience with SAP BTP / Fiori / Integration Suite
- SAP security, RBAC, SoD and SOX compliance
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Experience supporting testing and UAT
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps (ADO) or similar Agile/project delivery tools

Preferred Industry Experience Candidates with experience in Construction, Energy, Utilities, Infrastructure, Engineering or other capital-intensive industries will be strongly preferred.
