Company Description Studio 51 is a visual effects production studio with offices in Hyderabad, Beijing, and Mumbai, serving the film, entertainment, and advertising industries. Services span concept design, pre-production, shoot supervision, and post-production, supporting projects from initial idea through final delivery.

Studio 51 is currently evolving from a dedicated VFX studio into a broader film, television, and AI-focused company, offering opportunities to work on diverse and cutting-edge media projects.

Role Description The Freelance Compositor will work on a contract basis, integrating computer-generated elements, live-action footage, and visual effects to create polished final shots for film, television, and advertising projects. This hybrid role is based in Mumbai, with a combination of on-site collaboration and some work-from-home flexibility, depending on project needs. Day-to-day tasks include combining multiple render passes and plates, refining lighting and color, ensuring seamless transitions between CG and live action, and troubleshooting technical issues in the composite. The compositor will collaborate closely with supervisors, CG and animation teams, and production staff to maintain visual continuity, adhere to style guidelines, and deliver shots on schedule.

Responsibilities also include reviewing feedback, iterating on shots,



and maintaining organized project files and version control.

Qualifications

- Strong compositing skills with proficiency in tools and workflows related to Compositing and Computer Graphics.
- Ability to work with Lighting setups and integrate CG lighting with Live Action footage for cohesive final images.
- Experience collaborating with Animation teams and integrating animated elements into complex shots.
- Understanding of live-action production processes, including plate management, camera tracking, and on-set VFX considerations.
- Proficiency in industry-standard compositing software (e.g., Nuke, After Effects, Fusion) and familiarity with CG pipelines.
- Strong visual sense, including color theory, composition, and attention to detail, with the ability to match references and show styles.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to interpret creative direction and respond to feedback constructively.
- Experience working in VFX or post-production environments; prior work on film, television, or advertising projects is an advantage.
- Ability to manage time, handle multiple shots or tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced production setting.
- Relevant education or training in visual effects, animation, computer graphics, or a related field is beneficial, though strong portfolios and showreels are highly valued.
