About the Role

Astrogate Labs is building next-generation Free Space Optical Communication (FSOC) systems for space, defense, and terrestrial applications. We are looking for a highly analytical and intellectually curious Founder's Office - Research and Analysis Intern to work with the team on solving high-impact strategic and technical problems across our products, markets, and business.

This role sits at the intersection of technology research, market intelligence, systems engineering, and strategy . You will be responsible for researching emerging technologies, conducting in-depth market and competitor analysis, assisting in preparing techno-commercial studies and converting complex information into actionable insights that directly aid in strategic decisions.

If you enjoy diving deep into technical topics, understanding how markets evolve, and connecting engineering with business strategy, this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct in-depth market research and competitive intelligence the various domains Astrogate operates in, including but not limited to satellite communications, defense, photonics, aerospace, and adjacent technology sectors.
- Build structured market studies, technology assessments, and business case evaluations to support product strategy
- Research global companies, products, technologies, and emerging trends, identifying what they are building, why it matters, and how it impacts Astrogate's market positioning
- Review research papers, technical reports, standards, customer documentation, and industry publications, preparing concise executive summaries for internal stakeholders.
- Perform technology benchmarking and trade studies, comparing competing architectures, products, performance metrics, and commercial approaches.
- Create high-quality presentations, whitepapers, knowledge documents, and internal documentation for leadership and engineering teams.

Required Skills & Experience

- Strong interest in space technology, optical communications, aerospace, defense,



deep-tech, and emerging technologies .
- Excellent research and analytical skills with the ability to synthesize large volumes of technical and commercial information.
- Ability to understand complex engineering concepts quickly and communicate them clearly to both technical and business audiences
- Strong written communication skills with experience preparing reports, summaries, presentations, or technical documentation
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to independently manage multiple research projects

Preferred Skills & Experience

- Familiarity with aerospace, space and defence systems
- Exposure to market research and competitive intelligence
- Experience reading and interpreting technical papers, industry reports, patents, or engineering documentation
- Basic understanding of systems engineering, product development, or technology commercialization
- Proficiency with Microsoft Workspace, and up-to-date AI-assisted research tools
- Experience with data analysis and visualization, or technical writing is a plus
