Position: Floor Manager

Location: Gurugram, Haryana

Department: Production

Reports To: Production Head / Factory Manager

Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Floor Manager to oversee day-to-day production operations, ensuring production targets, quality standards, productivity, and on-time deliveries are consistently achieved. The ideal candidate should have strong leadership skills and hands-on experience in export garment manufacturing, preferably in knitwear and premium fabrics such as Merino Wool.

Key Responsibilities

Production Management

- Manage daily production to achieve planned targets.
- Monitor line efficiency, manpower utilization, and hourly output.
- Ensure smooth coordination between cutting, sewing, finishing, and packing.
- Minimize production bottlenecks and downtime.

Quality & Productivity

- Ensure garments meet buyer quality standards.
- Reduce DHU, rework, and alterations through effective quality control.
- Implement line balancing, Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Drive higher productivity while controlling manufacturing costs.

Team Leadership

- Lead supervisors, operators, and production staff.




- Conduct daily production meetings and resolve shop-floor issues.
- Train and motivate teams to achieve operational excellence.
- Maintain discipline, attendance, and a safe working workplace.

Compliance & Coordination

- Ensure compliance with buyer and factory standards.
- Coordinate with Merchandising, IE, QA, Maintenance, Stores, HR, and Dispatch teams.
- Monitor safety practices, housekeeping, and PPE compliance.

Technical Knowledge The candidate should have good knowledge of:

- Export garment manufacturing processes
- Garment construction and sewing operations
- Line balancing and production planning
- Knitwear production
- Merino Wool and premium fabric handling
- Shrinkage and dimensional stability
- Stitch quality and needle damage prevention
- Root Cause Analysis, Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and 5S
- ERP/MIS systems and Microsoft Excel

Candidate Profile

Experience

- 5-12 years of experience in garment manufacturing, cutting, stitching, or textile production.
- Experience in export garment manufacturing is essential.
- Experience with knitwear or Merino Wool garments will be an added advantage.

Qualifications

- Diploma or Degree in Fashion Technology, Apparel Manufacturing, Textile Engineering, or a related field.
- Industrial Engineering knowledge will be an added advantage.

- Ability to work under pressure and meet delivery timelines.
- Good analytical and decision-making ability.
