Job Title: Assistant Manager – Financial Reporting

Department: ISO – Financial Reporting

Location: Mumbai, India

Role Overview The Assistant Manager – Financial Reporting is responsible for the end‑to‑end production of statutory and ad‑hoc financial reports for fund‑service clients. The role ensures that all financial statements are prepared accurately, reviewed thoroughly, and delivered on time in line with legal deadlines and internal Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). You will lead a small team, coordinate with external auditors, manage client communications, and drive continuous process improvement and risk mitigation

Core Responsibilities

Direct Responsibilities

- Produce statutory financial statements (annual, semi‑annual) and any client‑requested reports (quarterly, liquidation, merger, dissolution) within prescribed legal timelines.
- Ensure the accuracy of the financial statements and that all required controls are executed.
- Complete and maintain the control checklist that formalises the review procedures.
- Review financial statements prepared by third‑party providers within the team.
- Meet all production deadlines for draft and final versions of reports.
- Request, collect and verify all supporting documentation from clients.




- Apply the specific accounting rules of the fund’s domicile and the jurisdictions where the funds are distributed.
- Manage and respond to requests received through the shared e‑mail inbox.
- Adhere strictly to process KPIs, delivering consistent performance.
- Champion continuous‑process‑improvement initiatives to meet efficiency targets.
- Ensure robust exception‑handling procedures are in place, documented and resolved promptly.
- Communicate clearly with clients, challenging customisations when necessary and preserving the integrity of the reporting process.
- Build strong relationships with internal locations and external stakeholders.
- Maintain audit‑ready documentation daily to facilitate clean audit closures.
- Follow incident‑management protocols and ensure the team does the same.
- Foster a positive, collaborative floor environment that strengthens team cohesion.
- Escalate potential issues to the AVP in a timely manner.
- Minimise unplanned absences during critical periods (month‑end, year‑end, roll‑overs, new‑fund migrations).

Contributing Responsibilities

- Support the transition of new business and activities from other 2S locations.
- Resolve client issues within agreed service‑level timelines; maintain a client‑service scorecard of 4 + out of 5.
- Deliver a high level of service to all BNP Paribas Group clients.
- Define, monitor and achieve process KPIs on an ongoing basis.
- Identify and mitigate operational risk across the reporting function.
- Prioritise work, investigate discrepancies diligently, and drive root‑cause resolution.




- Provide comprehensive training to team members to ensure competence in their tasks.
- Mentor and assist recent joiners in process knowledge, culture and day‑to‑day operations.
- Act as a reliable backup for other Assistant Managers during their absences.
- Actively participate in CSR initiatives and employee‑engagement activities.

4. Required Qualifications & Experience

- Master’s degree in Economics, Finance or a closely related field (or equivalent).
- 7 + years of experience in financial reporting, with at least 5 years dedicated to the fund‑services/financial‑reporting domain.
- End‑to‑end exposure to the financial reporting lifecycle for mutual funds, including statutory filings, audit support and ad‑hoc client reports.
- Proficiency with the NADI platform and MFFA (or comparable fund‑accounting systems).
- Working knowledge of the full NAV cycle and the roles of upstream teams (Middle Office, Pricing, Corporate Actions, Trade Accounting, etc.).
- Demonstrated experience in business‑operational transformation and process‑automation initiatives, including exposure to AI‑enabled tools.
- Strong grasp of internal and external audit management, risk & control frameworks, and regulatory compliance.
