PG: Postgraduate qualification in Industrial Safety, Fire & Safety, Environment, Health & Safety (Preferred, not mandatory).

Lal Sweets is a Bengaluru-headquartered packaged-food company established in 2010, with a growing presence across general trade, modern trade, e-commerce, airport outlets, and export markets. Its portfolio includes packaged mithai, namkeen, bakery products, and the company is expanding into healthy snacks, instant mixes, and frozen ready-to-eat foods.

Role & Responsibilities

Lead and strengthen the factory's safety culture by ensuring statutory compliance, promoting safe work practices, and maintaining a disciplined and hygienic manufacturing environment.

- Develop, implement, and monitor safety policies and procedures in compliance with the Factories Act, FSSAI, and statutory regulations.
- Conduct regular safety inspections, hazard identification, risk assessments, and ensure timely corrective actions.
- Conduct safety induction and refresher training on machine safety, fire safety, emergency response, and safe work practices.
- Train employees on the safe operation of machinery and promote behavioural safety across the factory.
- Ensure strict compliance with PPE usage, including face masks,



hair nets, gloves, safety shoes, and uniforms.
- Enforce GMP, GHP, hygiene standards, and safe manufacturing practices to prevent contamination and workplace hazards.
- Provide first aid during workplace emergencies and maintain first aid kits, fire safety equipment, and emergency facilities.
- Organize fire drills, mock drills, emergency evacuation programs, and incident investigations with corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Maintain statutory safety records, audit documentation, and support internal and external safety audits.
- Collaborate with Production, Maintenance, HR, Quality, and Factory Administration to continuously improve workplace safety, housekeeping (5S), and operational discipline.

Preferred Candidate Profile

- 8-10 years of experience in Industrial Safety, Factory Safety, or EHS, preferably in the Food Manufacturing/FMCG industry.
- Experience in food processing, bakery, confectionery, dairy, snacks, or packaged food manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of the Factories Act, FSSAI, GMP, GHP, HACCP, and industrial safety regulations.
- Hands-on experience in safety training, machine safety, fire safety, first aid, accident investigation, and emergency response.
- Positive understanding of risk assessment, hazard identification, PPE compliance, and statutory safety requirements.
- Experience in conducting safety audits, maintaining compliance records, and promoting behavioural safety.
- Strong leadership, communication, training, and interpersonal skills with proficiency in MS Office.
