Job Summary The Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates and quotations for printing and packaging products. The role involves analyzing customer specifications, calculating material consumption, estimating production costs, coordinating with production and procurement teams, and ensuring competitive pricing while maintaining the company's profitability.

Key Responsibilities

- Review customer enquiries, artwork, drawings, and specifications to understand product requirements.

- Prepare detailed cost estimates for printing and packaging products, including cartons, labels, flexible packaging, corrugated boxes, inserts, and other printed materials.

- Calculate material requirements, including paper, paperboard, kraft paper, films, inks, coatings, adhesives, laminates, and other consumables.

- Estimate production costs by considering printing, die-cutting, lamination, embossing, foil stamping, UV coating, varnishing, folding, gluing, finishing, packing, and logistics requirements.

- Prepare and issue quotations within the required turnaround time.

- Coordinate with sales, production, planning, procurement, pre-press, and quality departments to obtain technical and commercial inputs.

- Evaluate alternative materials and production methods to optimize costs without compromising quality.

- Maintain estimation records, quotation history, and costing databases.

- Review actual production costs against estimated costs and recommend improvements for future estimates.





- Support the sales team by providing technical and costing clarifications during customer discussions.

- Ensure compliance with company pricing policies and approved profit margins.

- Assist in updating standard costing models based on changes in raw material prices, labour costs, and manufacturing overheads.

- Maintain confidentiality of customer information, pricing, and commercial data.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Printing Technology, Packaging Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Commerce, or a related field.

- Certification or training in costing, estimation, or production planning is an advantage.

- 2 years of experience in estimation or costing within the printing or packaging industry.

Required Skills

- Robust knowledge of printing and packaging processes.

- Understanding of offset, flexographic, digital, gravure, and finishing operations.

- Knowledge of paper, board, films, inks, adhesives, and packaging materials.

- Excellent numerical, analytical, and costing skills.

- Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP/MIS software.

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

- Good communication and coordination skills.

- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and artwork.

- Effective time management and the ability to handle multiple enquiries simultaneously.

Pay: ₹12,000.00 - ₹15,000.00 per month
