MPS E&I; Designer

Reports To: Electrical Engineering Manager / Instrumentation & Control Engineering Manager

Job Summary The E&I; Designer will prepare and develop arrangement and detailed conceptual, FEED, study, and detailed design drawings with high technical quality and qualified presentation, ensuring clarity and ease of construction.

The role will involve developing 3D models, ensuring clash-free designs with all other disciplines, and completing engineering design deliverables in line with project specifications, schedules, and quality requirements.

Key Objectives

- Ensure on-time delivery of E&I; engineering deliverables.
- Implement lessons learned and continuous improvement.
- Manage Engineering Design Change Notifications (EDCN) and Management of Change (MOC) requirements.
- Maintain high service and design quality standards.

Roles & Responsibilities
- Become fully familiar with the contract scope of work, specifications, project schedule, and inter-disciplinary requirements.
- Study and understand the E&I; design scope and comply with company/client procedures, applicable international codes, and engineering standards.
- Identify scope changes and raise change notifications through the change management system, including supporting documentation and estimates.
- Support variation orders and scope changes as required.
- Interface with multiple engineering disciplines to develop clash-free designs.
- Coordinate with other disciplines to obtain required design inputs.
- Liaise with discipline support teams to ensure interfaces, deliverables, and schedules are clearly defined and achieved.
- Document key technical communications, decisions, and assigned actions.
- Support the Discipline Lead in preparing proposals, execution statements, work schedules, and man-hour estimates.
- Attend project, vendor, supplier, engineering, and design meetings as required.




- Maintain discipline master design drawings, documents, and final archives.
- Prepare and review 3D models, detailed design drawings, as-built drawings, and MTOs.
- Support the import/export of reference models from vendor inputs into PDMS / E3D.
- Review vendor drawings and deliverables to ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Maintain current knowledge of applicable engineering codes, standards, and design practices.
- Provide site engineering support for construction, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities.
- Support project audits and internal engineering process reviews.
- Participate in vendor and client meetings.
- Prepare Material Take-Offs (MTOs) during project execution and tender/proposal stages.
- Travel to project sites or other locations as required by project and business needs.

3D Modelling & Design

- Develop and review E&I; 3D models.
- Ensure designs are clash-free with other disciplines.
- Coordinate interdisciplinary interfaces.
- Support PDMS / E3D model import and export activities.
- Review vendor models and drawings against project requirements.
- Extract MTOs from 3D models where required.

Required Experience & Expertise

- Experience in Oil & Gas production facility design.
- Experience in skid-based design and engineering deliverables.
- Experience supporting construction, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities.
- Strong experience in E&I; design and engineering deliverables.
- Strong understanding of interdisciplinary engineering interfaces.
- Experience with 3D plant design and modelling.
- Experience with PDMS / E3D is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of AVEVA Electrical / AVEVA Instrumentation will be an added advantage.
- Knowledge of applicable international electrical and instrumentation codes and standards.
- Experience working with clients, vendors, third-party engineering organisations, and multidisciplinary project teams.

Educational Qualification

- Diploma in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, or
- Diploma in Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering, or
- Diploma in Instrumentation & Control Engineering.

Experience 10+ years of relevant industry experience, preferably in Oil & Gas engineering, E&I; design, plant design, skid-based projects, and 3D modelling.
