Dobby Technical Designer / Technical Designer – Weaving

Industry: Home Furnishing / Woven Fabrics

Experience: 3–7 Years

Qualification: Diploma/Degree in Textile Design, Textile Technology/Engineering or Technical Textile Designing

Key Responsibilities

- Develop Dobby/Jacquard weave constructions mainly for Upholstery, Drapery/Curtains, Bedding and Decorative Fabrics.
- Analyze customer/market samples for weave, yarn, EPI/PPI, GSM and fabric construction.
- Convert designs/artworks into production-ready weave plans/CAD files.
- Prepare weave drafts, peg plans and lifting plans and optimize construction for quality and cost.
- Handle product development from sample analysis → loom trial → sampling → final production.
- Develop new textures, patterns and surface effects using different weave techniques.
- Troubleshoot weaving/construction issues and coordinate with Design, Sampling, Weaving, Production and Merchandising teams.





Technical Requirements
- Robust knowledge of Dobby, Jacquard, Plain, Twill, Satin/Sateen, Basket, Herringbone, Extra Warp/Weft and Double Weave.
- Knowledge of Velvet/Pile and Leno weaving will be an advantage.
- Good understanding of yarn counts/types, EPI/PPI, GSM, reed selection and fabric calculations.
- Knowledge of Ned-Graphics, Vandewiele, ArahWeave, EAT DesignScope, WeavePoint or similar weaving CAD software.

Industry Preference Home Furnishing / Upholstery / Drapery experience preferred. Candidates from Saree, Garments or Shirting can also be considered if they have strong Dobby/Jacquard technical weaving and fabric development experience.

Pay: ₹660,000.00 - ₹840,000.00 per year
