FULL TIME - Shift Working (relief)

Exciting opportunities have arisen for dispatchers within our East Ambulance Control Centre in South Queensferry. Full time and part-time contracts are available.

The East Ambulance Control Centre (ACC) covers an extensive operational area including both high population and remote and rural areas. The role of the ACC dispatcher is demanding and the ability to work as part of a dedicated team is essential to provide 24hr Accident and Emergency cover to the public.

The candidate must be able to demonstrate clear evidence of accuracy and compliance with system protocols and Standard Operating Procedures, demonstrate an ability to work effectively under pressure and with minimal supervision. The successful applicant must be able to dispatch Ambulances to emergency/urgent calls, ensuring optimum use of resources in accordance with Service quality standards and deployment strategies.

As a relief worker you will have no fixed working pattern, instead getting shifts 4 weeks in advance helping to ensure that staffing remains at the required level. Candidates will need to be prepared to work 12-hour shifts.

Candidates will be required to travel to attend a 2-week (Internal candidates) or 3-week (external candidates) training course for this role, where after you will be placed through a up to 8-week mentorship within the Ambulance Control Centre.
