Role Description
As a Design Lead at Code O' Phile, you will oversee the visual and interaction design for learning materials, digital products, and community initiatives. Day-to-day responsibilities include leading design brainstorming sessions, creating and refining layouts, graphics, and visual assets, and ensuring brand consistency across all platforms and campaigns. You will collaborate closely with content creators, developers, and program coordinators to design user-centered experiences for students and community members.
The Design
Lead will also mentor junior designers or volunteers, review design work,
and gather feedback from users and stakeholders to improve design quality.
This is a volunteer, remote & part time.
Qualifications
- Strong visual, graphic, and interaction design skills, with the ability to create clear, engaging layouts and assets for web and print.
- Experience with common design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Adobe XD, Illustrator, Photoshop or similar applications).
- Ability to translate educational and technical content into user-friendly designs that support learning and engagement.
- Familiarity with brand development, design systems, and maintaining a consistent visual identity across multiple touchpoints.
- Comfort collaborating with cross-functional teams and providing clear design direction and feedback.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple projects and deadlines in a volunteer environment.
- Prior experience in education, edtech, or community-focused initiatives is beneficial but not required.
- Portfolio demonstrating relevant design work; formal degree in design, visual communication, or related field is a plus but not mandatory.
