- POSITION OVERVIEW
- This position is responsible for leading and managing the Institutional Equity Research team, overseeing the development and dissemination of high-quality equity research reports for institutional clients. The Deputy Manager will work closely with senior management and sales teams to ensure research-driven insights drive revenue growth and client satisfaction.
- KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Research Strategy & Quality
- Develop and execute comprehensive equity research strategy aligned with firm objectives
- Establish quality standards and best practices for all research outputs
- Ensure timeliness, accuracy, and consistency across all research publications
- Monitor coverage gaps and recommend sector/company additions to research universe

Team Leadership & Development
- Recruit, hire, and develop high-performing equity research analysts
- Conduct performance reviews, goal-setting, and career development planning
- Mentor junior analysts and facilitate knowledge transfer within the team
- Foster collaborative culture and promote innovative research methodologies

Institutional Client Relations
- Maintain and develop relationships with key institutional clients
- Present research insights to buy-side and sell-side clients
- Gather client feedback and incorporate into research agenda
- Support Institutional Sales team in identifying research value propositions

Financial Performance
- Drive revenue growth through increased client engagement and research monetization
- Manage departmental budget and resource allocation
- Track and analyze research productivity metrics and ROI




- Identify opportunities for operational efficiency and cost optimization

Compliance & Governance
- Ensure all research adheres to regulatory requirements (SEBI, BSE, NSE guidelines)
- Maintain independence and avoid conflicts of interest in research recommendations
- Implement robust compliance review procedures for all publications
- Conduct regular training on regulatory and ethical standards

Research Coverage & Insights
- Maintain active knowledge of assigned sectors and key companies
- Contribute directly to research reports on complex or strategic stocks
- Lead thematic research initiatives and equity market commentary
- Present market outlook and research insights to internal stakeholders
- REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field
- Minimum 8-10 years of experience in equity research (institutions, brokerages, asset management)
- Proven track record of managing research teams or mentoring analysts
- Strong understanding of Indian equity markets and global market dynamics
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Proficiency in financial modeling, valuation techniques, and research methodologies
- Knowledge of regulatory environment (SEBI, BSE, NSE, stock brokerage guidelines)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities and ability to manage change
- CA, CFA Charter (Level I minimum, CA, CFA II or CFA III preferred)
- PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- CFA Charterholder (CFA III)




- MBA from a recognized institution
- Experience with institutional equity research platforms (e.g., Bloomberg, FactSet, E*TRADE Pro)
- Background in technology sector or emerging market research
- Experience with research monetization and client engagement strategies
- Track record of published research gaining recognition in industry
- Experience managing P&L; and driving revenue growth
- Prior experience in India's stock broking industry
