Data Lead

About the Role (SAP to Snowflake Data Delivery):

Own the end-to-end data pipeline from SAP source systems (ECC / S/4HANA) into Snowflake — extraction, ingestion, transformation, and publication of curated layers.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead end-to-end SAP to Snowflake data integration , ensuring reliable, scalable, and high-quality data pipelines.
- Design and optimize Snowflake data models for performance, governance, and cost efficiency.
- Develop interactive Power BI dashboards, semantic models, DAX measures, and secure reporting solutions.
- Ensure data quality, reconciliation, and governance across analytical assets.
- Partner with business stakeholders to translate requirements into meaningful KPIs and actionable insights.
- Drive data storytelling by building dashboards that support business decision-making.
- Lead and mentor a team of 4–6 Data Engineers, Analysts, and BI Developers.
- Establish best practices for data engineering, BI development, and deployment standards.
- Collaborate with SAP, IT, and infrastructure teams to remove dependencies and deliver projects efficiently.
- Manage stakeholder expectations, roadmap planning, and analytics adoption across business functions.
- Conduct regular business reviews, training sessions, and feedback workshops to maximize report adoption.
- Measure the impact of analytics through usage, business value, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Skills

- 8–10 years of experience in data engineering, business intelligence or analytics,



with at least 2–3 years leading a team.
- Demonstrable experience extracting and modelling SAP data — practical understanding of SAP data structures and the realities of SAP extraction.
- Strong, hands-on Snowflake experience : modelling, performance tuning, security, and cost management.
- Expert-level SQL.
- Advanced Power BI : semantic modelling, DAX, Power Query, RLS, deployment pipelines, workspace governance.
- Experience with a modern transformation / orchestration tool (DBT, Azure Data Factory, Fivetran, Matillion, Airflow or equivalent).
- Proven business analysis capability — requirements gathering, KPI definition, process understanding.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; comfortable presenting to senior leadership.
- Track record of delivering analytics that were adopted and used, with evidence of the outcome delivered.

Preferred Skills

- Experience with a modern transformation / orchestration tool (DBT, Azure Data Factory, Fivetran, Matillion, Airflow or equivalent).
- Experience with S/4HANA migration or SAP Datasphere / BW context.
- Exposure to Microsoft Fabric, Databricks or similar.
- Python for data engineering or automation.
- CI/CD and version control practices for data (Git, automated testing, setting promotion).
- Data governance, cataloguing or master data management experience.
- Domain depth in finance, supply chain, manufacturing or retail analytics.
