Position: CSSD Technician (Central Sterile Services Department)

Location: Motherhood Hospital

Qualification

- Diploma in CSSD / Operation Theatre Technology (OTT) / Sterilization Technology or any relevant allied health qualification.
- Certification in CSSD will be an added advantage.

Experience

- 2–5 years of experience in a hospital CSSD.
- Experience in NABH-accredited hospitals is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform cleaning, decontamination, inspection, assembly, packing, sterilization, and distribution of surgical instruments and medical equipment.
- Operate and monitor autoclaves, ETO sterilizers, washer disinfectors, and other sterilization equipment as per hospital protocols.
- Ensure proper sterilization, storage, and handling of sterile supplies.
- Maintain accurate sterilization records, logs, and documentation.
- Conduct biological, chemical, and mechanical monitoring of sterilization processes.
- Ensure compliance with NABH standards, infection control protocols, and hospital policies.
- Coordinate with Operation Theatre, Labour Room, NICU, ICU, and other departments to ensure timely availability of sterile instruments and supplies.




- Identify damaged or malfunctioning instruments and report them for repair or replacement.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization within the CSSD department.
- Adhere to infection prevention and biomedical waste management guidelines.
- Ensure timely turnaround of sterile supplies to support uninterrupted patient care.

Required Skills

- Sound knowledge of sterilization techniques and infection control practices.
- Hands-on experience with autoclaves, ETO sterilizers, and other CSSD equipment.
- Valuable organizational and documentation skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced hospital environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to work in rotational shifts.
