Role Overview The Kotak Graduate Scholarship (KGS) program empowers high-potential students by providing financial support and holistic development opportunities. The Mentor plays a pivotal role in this ecosystem, acting as the primary point of contact and guide for an assigned cohort of scholars. The ideal candidate is deeply empathetic, highly organized, and data-driven.

You will be responsible for tracking academic progress, ensuring process compliance, driving attendance for holistic development sessions, and providing timely interventions for students facing academic or personal roadblocks.

Key Responsibilities 1.

Student

Counseling & Mentoring ● Conduct structured monthly mentoring calls and periodic home visits for the assigned cohort of scholars. ● Provide early and empathetic interventions for students facing academic challenges (e.g., ATKTs, dropping out) or personal crises. ● Act as a reliable sounding board to help students build confidence, professional identity, and problem-solving skills. 2.

Academic

Tracking & Compliance ● Ensure 100% compliance in collecting required documentation from scholars on time, including semester results, updated CVs, and valid fee receipts for scholarship disbursements.

● Track academic trajectories closely and report vulnerable cases to management proactively.



● Ensure scholars are fully onboarded and active on required internal platforms (ERP, Moodle). 3.

Holistic

Development & Session Coordination ● Drive scholar engagement and ensure high attendance for external upskilling and holistic development sessions (e.g., Mental health sessions, Career readiness sessions, and technical workshops). ● Gather feedback from students post-sessions and help facilitate in-house peer mentoring or office mentoring initiatives.

- Data Management & Reporting ● Maintain rigorous daily, weekly, and monthly MIS trackers related to call completion, home visits, and document collection. ● Provide proactive, clear, and data-backed end-of-day reports to the reporting manager. ● Assist in user acceptance testing (UAT) for new program modules and support the baseline assessment processes.

Key Qualifications & Skills Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Work, Education, Psychology, or a related field.

Experience: Prior experience in youth mentoring, student counseling, or managing educational programs/scholarships.

Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to interact effectively with students from diverse backgrounds and their parents. Tech-Savviness: Proficiency in managing data using Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets and a quick learner for internal ERP systems. Problem-Solving: Ability to handle crisis situations calmly and provide actionable solutions without escalating every minor issue.

Accountability: Strong time management skills with a proven track record of meeting strict operational deadlines and targets.
