Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced AS400 / IBM i Developer with strong hands‑on expertise in COBOL, SYNON, and RPG . The resource will work on enterprise‑scale applications, supporting development, enhancements, and production support activities in a legacy environment, with exposure to modernization initiatives.

Scope of Work

- Application development and maintenance on IBM i (AS400 / iSeries) platform
- Enhancements, defect fixes, and production support for existing applications
- Participation in requirement analysis, impact analysis, and solution implementation
- Collaboration with onshore/offshore teams, business users, and support teams
- Support batch jobs, online programs, and system integrations
- Follow assigned delivery schedules, coding standards, and support SLAs

Mandatory Technical Skills (Must Have) Vendors must propose candidates meeting the following criteria:

- 4–6 years of hands‑on AS400 / IBM i development experience
- Strong practical experience in:
- COBOL
- SYNON
- RPG / RPGLE
- CL / CLLE
- Valuable working knowledge of:
- DB2/400
- Physical and Logical Files
- SQL on AS400




- Strong debugging and problem‑solving skills
- Experience supporting applications in a production environment

Preferred / Value‑Add Skills (Good to Have)

- Java knowledge for integration or modernization efforts
- Exposure to PBM (Pharmacy Benefit Management) domain
- Experience working in legacy modernization or transformation programs
- Familiarity with:
- Batch scheduling and job monitoring tools
- Change management and deployment processes
- AI tool usage as an end user (e.g., Copilot, AI‑assisted code or impact analysis tools)

Non‑Technical Skills

- Good communication and coordination skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Willingness to work in support rotations or critical production windows
- Strong ownership and accountability mindset

Screening / Vendor Notes (Optional)

- Candidates should have verifiable hands‑on experience in AS400 technologies
- Experience in healthcare or PBM systems will be considered an advantage
- Resume must clearly mention project‑level usage of COBOL, SYNON, and RPG
