We are seeking a Cloudflare Security Engineer with strong hands-on experience in

Cloudflare's security platform. This role will focus on securing and optimizing our

Cloudflare environment, ensuring our web applications remain protected against evolving threats while maintaining performance and availability.

Cloudflare experience is a mandatory requirement for this position. Candidates without proven expertise in Cloudflare WAF and related security products will not be considered.

Key Responsibilities

- Review, optimize, and maintain Cloudflare WAF rulesets to improve security posture while minimizing false positives.
- Configure and fine-tune DDoS protection policies and mitigation strategies.
- Design, implement, and optimize Rate Limiting rules to protect applications from abuse and automated attacks.
- Monitor Cloudflare security events and recommend improvements based on threat intelligence and traffic analysis.
- Investigate security incidents related to web application attacks and collaborate with internal teams on remediation.
- Develop, update, and enhance Security Operations Center (SOC) runbooks for

Cloudflare-related security events and incident response.
- Work closely with infrastructure, DevOps, and application teams to implement security best practices.




- Stay current with Cloudflare product enhancements and recommend adoption of new security capabilities where appropriate.

Required Qualifications

- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Cloudflare security products.
- Strong expertise in:

o Cloudflare Web Application Firewall (WAF)

o DDoS Protection o Rate Limiting o Firewall Rules o Security Analytics and Event Monitoring

- Experience reviewing and tuning WAF rules to reduce false positives and improve detection.
- Strong understanding of web application security concepts, including the OWASP

Top 10.
- Experience developing or maintaining SOC playbooks/runbooks.
- Knowledge of HTTP/HTTPS, TLS, DNS, CDN, and web application architectures.
- Robust analytical and troubleshooting skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) security and networking.
- Familiarity with cloud-native security services and infrastructure.
- Experience integrating Cloudflare with SIEM or monitoring platforms.
- Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) for Cloudflare configuration management.
- Relevant security certifications such as Security+, GSEC, CISSP, CCSP, or

Cloudflare certifications are a plus.
