Role Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced CICS z/OS Systems Engineer with solid expertise in IBM CICS System Administration, IBM WebSphere Liberty (CICS Liberty), z/OS infrastructure, and enterprise security integration . The ideal candidate should possess hands-on experience in configuring, administering, and optimizing CICS environments, supporting modern Java runtimes within CICS Liberty, and ensuring secure, high-availability mainframe infrastructure.

The role requires deep expertise in CICS system administration rather than application development , with exposure to enterprise security, performance tuning, troubleshooting, modernization initiatives, and production support.

Key Responsibilities CICS z/OS Administration

- Install, configure, administer, and maintain IBM CICS Transaction Server on z/OS.
- Perform CICS region creation, startup, shutdown, cloning, and maintenance.
- Configure CICS resources including transactions, programs, files, queues, and connections.
- Perform CICS upgrades, patching, and version migrations.
- Monitor and optimize CICS performance across production environments.

IBM WebSphere Liberty (CICS Liberty)
- Install, configure, and administer IBM WebSphere Liberty runtime within CICS.
- Configure Liberty server.xml, JVM profiles, features, and application deployment.




- Deploy Java applications into CICS Liberty runtime.
- Configure SSL/TLS, certificates, and secure communication.
- Troubleshoot Liberty startup, deployment, and runtime issues.

z/OS System Engineering
- Support enterprise z/OS environments.
- Perform system monitoring, capacity planning, and performance tuning.
- Analyze SMF, RMF, and system logs.
- Coordinate with z/OS infrastructure teams during maintenance and upgrades.

Security & Integration
- Implement RACF security for CICS and Liberty environments.
- Configure SAF, SSL certificates, authentication, and authorization.
- Support secure API integration with distributed systems.
- Implement enterprise security policies and compliance requirements.

Modernization & Integration
- Support REST APIs and web services hosted on CICS Liberty.
- Integrate CICS applications with enterprise middleware.
- Support Java-based modernization initiatives on the mainframe.
- Collaborate with distributed application teams for hybrid integration.

Operations & Support
- Provide L2/L3 production support.
- Participate in 24 7 on-call rotation.
- Perform incident, problem, and change management.
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for production incidents.
- Prepare operational documentation and standard operating procedures.
