Chief Nursing Officer

Key Responsibilities Lead and oversee all nursing operations across inpatient, outpatient, ICU, OT, emergency, and specialty units. Develop and implement nursing policies, clinical protocols, and standard operating procedures. Ensure the delivery of safe, patient-centered, and evidence-based nursing care. Plan, supervise, and evaluate nursing manpower, staffing patterns, and workforce utilization. Monitor nursing quality indicators, patient safety initiatives, and clinical outcomes. Ensure compliance with NABH, Nursing Council, statutory, and hospital quality standards. Conduct nursing audits, quality improvement initiatives, and corrective action plans. Lead recruitment, orientation, competency assessment, performance appraisal, and retention of nursing staff. Plan and conduct continuous nursing education, training programs, and career development initiatives. Coordinate with medical, allied health, infection control, quality, HR, and administration departments for seamless patient care. Oversee infection prevention, medication safety, biomedical waste management,



and patient safety practices. Monitor nursing documentation, incident reporting, and clinical record maintenance. Participate in hospital committees, strategic planning, accreditation activities, and policy development. Manage departmental budgets, procurement planning, and optimal utilization of nursing resources. Promote ethical nursing practice, teamwork, and a culture of continuous quality improvement. Handle patient grievances related to nursing services and ensure timely resolution. Provide leadership during emergency situations, disaster management, and hospital crisis response.

Qualifications &

Experience M.Sc. Nursing (Preferred) / B.Sc. Nursing with relevant administrative experience.

Valid

Registration with the Tamil Nadu Nursing Council. Minimum 10–15 years of clinical nursing experience, including 5+ years in a senior nursing leadership/administrative role.

Experience in a multispecialty or tertiary care hospital is preferred.
