Position: Chief Manager Application Development (APD)

Business Unit: Fluorocarbon Business (FCB)

Reporting To: Head Technology Fluoropolymers

Job Location: Dahej, Bharuch, Gujarat - (Candidate must have ready to relocate to Bharuch)

Qualification : M Tech Chemical / Polymer or PHD Chemical / Polymer (throughout 1st Division) with 10-18 years of Experience

- Strong experience in fluoropolymers or advanced polymer materials.
- At least 5 years of team leadership experience.

Role Purpose The role is responsible for developing and scaling fluoropolymers for new industrial applications across sectors such as chemicals, textiles, automobile, electrical, semiconductor, and aerospace industries. The position works closely with business development teams and customers to identify new application opportunities, develop suitable product specifications, and support commercialization and scalability of fluoropolymer products.

Key Responsibilities

1. Identification & Development of New Applications

- Identify potential new applications for fluoropolymers across target industries.
- Develop processing parameters and product specifications required for current applications.
- Standardize testing methods and evaluation procedures to validate application performance.
- Collaborate with internal teams and customers to finalize product specifications and commercial potential.

KPIs

- Number of applications identified
- Number of customer-approved projects
- Successful application development
- Revenue generated from new applications

1. Sample Development & Customer Approval

- Develop samples with certified testing specifications based on customer requirements.
- Study technical scalability of developed samples along with internal technical teams.
- Coordinate with customers for evaluation and approval of developed samples.

KPI

- Number of customer approvals obtained.

1. Technical Support & Troubleshooting





- Provide application and processing support to customers for high-end fluoropolymer applications.
- Resolve technical issues and customer complaints related to product performance.
- Support internal teams with technical troubleshooting and application expertise.

1. Specification & Design Validation

- Ensure correctness of technical specifications during basic design stages.
- Select suitable testing instruments and equipment for application development.
- Verify designs from engineering consultants and ensure technical requirements are properly transferred to procurement and execution teams.
- Contribute to reducing rework and engineering errors.

1. Market & Product Development Collaboration

- Work closely with marketing and end-users during product development cycles.
- Identify opportunities to convert existing materials into fluoropolymer applications.
- Coordinate with New Product Development (NPD) teams to evaluate feasibility.
- Prepare development proposals and agreements with OEM customers.
