Department - Quality Control / Laboratory

Location -Mohadi, Raipur, Chhattisgarh

Experience - 2–5 Years in Coal Washery, Coal Trading, Thermal Power, Sponge Iron, Cement, or Mineral Testing Laboratory.

Qualification

- B.Sc. Chemistry / M.Sc. Chemistry
- Diploma in Chemical Engineering (preferred)
- Knowledge of coal testing procedures and laboratory practices.

Salary- ₹18,000 – ₹30,000 per month (Negotiable based on experience)

Job Summary

We are looking for a dedicated Chemist to perform physical and chemical analysis of coal samples, maintain laboratory records, ensure testing accuracy, and support quality control activities. The candidate should have hands-on experience in coal sampling, testing, reporting, and laboratory equipment handling.

Key Responsibilities

- Collect and prepare coal samples as per standard sampling procedures.
- Perform routine coal testing, including:
- Moisture (Total & Inherent)
- Ash Content
- Volatile Matter
- Fixed Carbon
- Gross Calorific Value (GCV)
- Total Sulphur
- Size Analysis (Sieve Analysis)
- Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of laboratory instruments.
- Prepare and maintain daily laboratory test reports.
- Verify coal quality received from suppliers and dispatched to customers.
- Monitor quality parameters during coal washing and beneficiation processes.
- Maintain laboratory chemicals, glassware, and testing consumables.




- Ensure compliance with laboratory safety procedures and quality standards.
- Identify deviations in coal quality and report abnormalities immediately.
- Coordinate with Operations, Dispatch, and Purchase teams regarding quality issues.
- Maintain accurate records of all test results for audit and customer reference.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and testing protocols.

Required Skills
- Positive knowledge of coal testing methods.
- Understanding of proximate analysis.
- Familiarity with IS/ASTM standards for coal testing.
- Basic knowledge of laboratory equipment operation.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Computer knowledge (MS Excel & MS Word).
- Ability to prepare test reports accurately.
- Strong attention to detail.
