- Working knowledge of CFD fundamentals – multiphase flow, splash lubrication, oil churning losses, thermal management, and rotating machinery flow physics.
- Familiarity with meshing requirements specific to rotating components (MRF, sliding mesh, overset mesh).
- Perform CAD cleanup, surface wrapping, and geometry simplification for transmission and driveline components using ANSA.
- Generate high-quality surface and volume meshes (tetra, poly, hex-dominant) for CFD simulations related to lubrication, oil churning, splash lubrication, and thermal management studies.
- Set up flow domains, boundary conditions, and rotating region (MRF/sliding mesh) meshes for driveline components in ANSA.
- Ensure mesh quality metrics (skewness, aspect ratio, min/max angle,
growth rate) meet solver requirements for tools such as Fluent, StarCCM+, PowerFLOW, or Converge.
- Collaborate with CFD analysts to translate model requirements into robust, simulation-ready meshes.
- Support multiple concurrent transmission/driveline CFD projects, ensuring on-time delivery of high-fidelity models.
- Troubleshoot and resolve meshing-related errors, negative volumes, and geometry defects.
- Maintain documentation of modeling standards, best practices, and process checklists.
