: CENtree Ontology Engineer

- Role Summary

The CENtree Ontology Engineer will design, model, curate, and manage ontologies, taxonomies, and controlled vocabularies in the SciBite CENtree platform. This engineer will lead ontology lifecycle management and integration, enabling precise and interoperable metadata across data assets.
- Must-Have Technical Skills

2.1 Ontology & Semantic Modeling
- Deep understanding of ontology concepts (RDF/OWL/SKOS)
- Model, curate, and extend domain ontologies (life sciences/pharma focus)
- Map data elements to controlled vocabularies and standards

2.2 CENtree Platform Usage
- CENtree ontology curation, versioning, and publishing
- Mapping and linking ontologies with data catalogs
- Experience creating and managing term relationships, synonyms, and hierarchy

2.3 APIs & Integration
- CENtree REST APIs for programmatic access and integration
- Automate ontology publishing and validation workflows

2.4 Data Governance & Quality
- Assist in defining and enforcing enterprise metadata standards
- Support governance policies: standardization, stewardship, compliance
- Key Responsibilities
- Design, curate,



and maintain ontologies and vocabularies in CENtree
- Align business data assets to enterprise ontologies
- Manage ontology versioning, releases, and impact analysis
- Map and integrate ontologies with data catalogs and domain models
- Work with platform/admin engineers to support high quality metadata flows
- Develop and deliver ontology documentation and training materials
- Soft Skills
- Analytical problem-solving for semantic data challenges
- Stakeholder collaboration with scientists, stewards, and platform teams
- Solid written and verbal communication of complex models
- Additional Details
- Background in life sciences, pharma, or research data domains strongly preferred
- Experience with standards such as SNOMED, MeSH, ChEBI, or CDISC is a plus
