Job Opening: Captain / Steward/ Assistant Steward

Job Summary

We are looking for courteous, energetic and service-oriented Captains and Stewards/Assistant Steward to join our Wellness Premium Cafe.

The selected candidate will be responsible for providing excellent guest service, ensuring smooth restaurant operations, maintaining service standards, and supporting the team in delivering a positive dining experience. The level of responsibility will depend on the designation and experience, with Captains taking greater responsibility for section operations and team coordination, while Stewards and Assistant Steward focus on guest service, order taking, food and beverage service, and maintaining cleanliness.

Position-Specific Responsibilities

Captain:

- Take responsibility for the smooth operation of the assigned section.
- Coordinate and supervise Stewards within the assigned section.
- Brief the team regarding reservations, special requests, VIP guests and daily promotions.
- Ensure proper place and readiness of the section before service.
- Take and coordinate guest orders accurately.
- Ensure food and beverages are served correctly and on time.
- Monitor service quality and take corrective action when required.
- Handle guest concerns professionally and escalate serious complaints to the Restaurant Manager.
- Coordinate closely with the kitchen and bar to minimize delays and errors.




- Assist in training and guiding new Stewards and junior service staff.
- Ensure the section is properly closed and handed over at the end of the shift.

Steward/Assistant Steward:

- Prepare the assigned service area before opening.
- Set tables with appropriate crockery, cutlery, glassware and other service items.
- Assist guests with menus and provide attentive table service.
- Take and serve food and beverage orders accurately under the guidance of the Captain.
- Clear used plates, glasses and cutlery promptly.
- Maintain cleanliness of tables, chairs, service stations and surrounding areas.
- Assist the Captain in maintaining smooth service operations.
- Replenish service items and maintain adequate supplies during the shift.
- Follow proper food handling, hygiene and sanitation practices.
- Assist with opening, closing and cleaning duties.
- Support other team members whenever required.

Qualification & Experience

Captain:

- Diploma/degree in Hotel Management or Hospitality preferred.
- Relevant experience in restaurant/hotel F&B; operations preferred.
- Previous experience supervising or coordinating service staff will be an advantage.
- Good knowledge of restaurant service procedures and guest handling.

Steward/Assistant Steward:

- Hospitality/Hotel Management qualification preferred but not mandatory.
- Freshers may be considered depending on the operation.
- Previous F&B; service experience will be an advantage.
- Positive communication and customer-service skills.
