Role Summary:

As the Business Finance Manager in this ascension role, you will collaborate closely with sales leadership, business operations, and finance teams to manage the financial health of your region. You will drive planning, forecasting, pricing governance, contract reviews, margin improvement, P&L; oversight, AR/UBR risk reduction and revenue recognition efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Planning

- Work with sales leadership, corporate, business ops and finance in leading planning activities for the region.
- Review the business plan with leadership; provide insights, scenario analysis and other required analytics and presentations.

1. Forecasting

- Review weekly forecasts supplied by business operations and the sales team and commit to the likely and upside forecasts.
- Provide opportunity and risk analysis. Identify actions and drive closure of such actions.

1. Pricing

- Review all commercial submissions including new deals, renewals/extensions, change requests—collaborating with MSIB,



delivery, practice & sales leadership.
- Review pricing templates and T&C;’s, ensure deal governance and approvals. Present to leadership on deal summary, KPI, risks & mitigations.
- Verify all deal parameters and assumptions. Pro-actively engage with sales in the financial construct of critical/large deals. Approve invoicing/milestone schedule, KT calculation, prepare termination schedules based on investment calculation.

1. Contract Reviews

- Work with sales and legal in reviewing and approving all commercial clauses of MSA, SOW, Change Requests including Invoicing, payments, LOL, insurance, indemnity, MFC, step-in, non-solicitation, set-off.
- Highlight all risks to the legal team and, if required, negotiate with customer legal/procurement on red-lined commercial clauses.

1. Non-Billable Approvals

- Review and approve all non-billable costs in client projects including buffer/shadow resources, non-billable travel, non-billable tools, non-billable vendor costs not part of deal pricing.

1. P&L; Review

- Review monthly P&L; and prepare month-on-month variances, headwinds, QoQ/YoY revenue & margin walk, trend analysis, customer segmentation, revenue & margin draggers/laggards, AR & UBR risks.

1. Margin Improvement

- Liaise with central Bid vs Did team to get required data.



Collaborate with the delivery BFM team and sales team to drive margin (EBITDA) improvement for the region. Ensure QoQ EBITDA improvement by highlighting all margin draggers, risks.

1. AR & UBR

- Work with AR & UBR team to obtain information on AR & UBR ageing. Drive reduction in DSO and ensure zero write-offs.

1. Revenue

- Work with controllership team providing timely updates on efforts, TCV, delivery risks, potential overruns to ensure fair & accurate revenue recognition—especially for fixed bid projects.

Qualifications & Skills:

- Proven experience in business finance, FP&A;, pricing or contract governance within a services/engineering environment.
- Strong analytical skills including scenario planning, trend analysis, forecasting and financial modelling.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills (interfacing with sales, delivery, legal, corporate finance).
- Demonstrated ability to influence margin improvement, cost control, and ensure accurate revenue recognition.
- Prudent understanding of P&L; review, AR/UBR management, contract review and pricing governance.
- Comfortable working in a shift from 12:00 PM–9:00 PM at Chennai or Bangalore location, in a global services setup.

Reporting & Workplace: This role reports into the senior regional finance leadership at Ascendion. You will operate in a dynamic, rapid-paced global environment, working across functions (business operations, sales, delivery, legal, controllership) and frequently interacting with global stakeholders to support high visibility financial decisions and business outcomes.
