Role Description The Automation Lead Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Pune. This position is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing automation solutions across manufacturing and machining operations to improve productivity, consistency, and safety.

Day-to-day tasks include analyzing existing production processes, identifying opportunities for automation, developing and validating control logic, and coordinating with cross-functional engineering and production teams to deploy automated systems. The role involves overseeing installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of automation equipment and software, while ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.

Engineer will also mentor junior engineers and technicians, maintain documentation of automation projects, and collaborate with management on technology upgrades and long-term automation strategies.

Qualifications

- Strong foundation in industrial automation, including PLC programming, HMI/SCADA configuration, and integration of sensors, actuators, and drives.
- Experience with manufacturing process automation, particularly within CNC machining, investment casting, and metal fabrication environments.
- Knowledge of control systems design, electrical schematics, and instrumentation relevant to automated production lines.
- Skills in process analysis, continuous improvement, and root cause problem-solving in a production or engineering setting.
- Ability to lead projects, coordinate cross-functional teams, and manage timelines and resources for automation initiatives.
- Familiarity with industrial safety standards and valuable practices for safe design, operation, and maintenance of automated systems.
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field; advanced certifications in automation or control systems are an advantage.
- Relevant experience in automotive or precision engineering manufacturing is preferred, with exposure to OEM or Tier-1 supplier environments.
- Effective communication skills, ability to document technical work clearly, and readiness to work on-site in Faridabad in a hands-on role.
