About us Sublime Accountants is a cloud accounting firm specialising in tax and compliance services for Australian small and medium-sized businesses. We use Xero and XPM as our core platforms and are looking for a Tax Accountant to join our team. The role You will work directly under the supervision of the director, handling accounting and compliance tasks for a portfolio of Australian clients.

We are looking for someone who already has a solid foundation in AU accounting at minimum up to trial balance and hands-on experience with Australian tax compliance. This is a contractor role with flexible hours. We are open to part-time or full-time arrangements depending on the right fit.

Key Responsibilities Compliance Work

Prepare BAS/IAS, tax returns, and financial statements for individuals, companies, trusts, and partnerships.

Perform bookkeeping tasks, including account reconciliation and bank feed management in Xero.

Process payroll and ensure compliance with relevant Australian regulations.

Client

Communication

Liaise with clients to request and clarify information needed for compliance tasks.

Address client queries related to bookkeeping, payroll, and compliance issues.

Workflow

Management

Organize and manage multiple client jobs to meet deadlines.





Collaborate with the director for job reviews and guidance on complex BAS or tax returns.

Stay updated on Australian tax compliance changes and apply them to client accounts where necessary.

Requirements Minimum 1–3 years of experience in Australian tax and compliance (mandatory)

Solid accounting foundation, comfortable working up to trial balance stage

Hands-on experience with Xero and XPM (mandatory)

Good written English for client and internal communication
