Position Summary

We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Draftsman to support the Mechanical Design team in preparing detailed engineering drawings, manufacturing drawings, assembly drawings, and documentation for autonomous vehicle systems and related mechanical components. The candidate should have strong drafting skills and hands-on experience with CAD tools.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare 2D manufacturing drawings and 3D models for sheet metal, fabricated parts, machined components, assemblies, and sub-assemblies.
- Create detailed drawings with GD&T;, dimensions, tolerances, weld symbols, and BOMs as per engineering standards.
- Modify and update existing drawings based on engineering change requests (ECR/ECO).
- Coordinate with design engineers, manufacturing, vendors, and quality teams to ensure drawing accuracy and manufacturability.
- Maintain drawing records, revision history, and design documentation in the PLM/document control system.
- Support prototype development by incorporating feedback from fabrication and assembly teams.
- Ensure compliance with company drafting standards and relevant industry standards.
- Prepare assembly layouts, exploded views, and installation drawings as required.




- Assist in material selection documentation and manufacturing process documentation.

Required Skills

- Proficiency in AutoCAD for 2D drafting.
- Hands-on experience with SolidWorks / onshape for 3D modeling.
- Good understanding of sheet metal design, fabrication drawings, machining drawings, and welding drawings.
- Knowledge of GD&T;, limits & fits, tolerancing, and engineering drawing standards.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and assembly documents.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as sheet metal fabrication, machining, laser cutting, bending, and welding.
- Valuable communication and coordination skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in automotive, robotics, industrial automation, or special-purpose machine (SPM) industries.
- Exposure to prototype development and production support activities.
- Knowledge of PLM/PDM systems is an added advantage.

Educational Qualification
- Diploma / ITI in Mechanical Engineering with relevant drafting experience, or
- BE / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering with hands-on drafting exposure.

Experience

- 1–3 years of relevant experience as a Mechanical Draftsman / CAD Draftsman / Design Draftsman.
