: Associate Vice President (AVP) – Projects (MEP)

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Associate Vice President – Projects (MEP) to lead the end-to-end execution of Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) projects for large-scale, mission-critical infrastructure. The role is responsible for planning, execution, quality, safety, stakeholder management, commercial performance, and timely delivery of multiple concurrent projects.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in delivering Data Centers, Industrial Facilities, Commercial Buildings, or other Mission-Critical Infrastructure with expertise in MEP systems and large cross-functional project teams.

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership

- Lead the execution of multiple MEP projects from design coordination through commissioning and handover.
- Develop project execution strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Drive project governance across planning, execution, monitoring, and reporting.

Engineering & Technical Excellence
- Oversee execution of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, HVAC, ELV, BMS, and associated infrastructure systems.
- Review engineering drawings, technical specifications, and design changes.
- Ensure compliance with international and local engineering standards.
- Resolve complex engineering and execution challenges.

Stakeholder Management
- Manage relationships with clients, consultants, EPC contractors, OEMs, and internal leadership.
- Coordinate with Design, Procurement, Commercial, Finance, and Operations teams.
- Present project updates to executive leadership and steering committees.

Commercial & Financial Management
- Monitor project budgets, cost forecasts, cash flows, and profitability.
- Review change orders, claims, variations, and contractual obligations.
- Drive value engineering and cost optimization initiatives.

Vendor & Contractor Management
- Lead contractor selection, performance evaluation,



and execution governance.
- Ensure timely procurement and delivery of long-lead MEP equipment.
- Monitor subcontractor productivity, quality, and compliance.

Quality & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to quality management systems and project specifications.
- Drive QA/QC processes throughout project execution.
- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, environmental requirements, and safety standards.

Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
- Foster a strong safety-first culture across all project sites.
- Ensure zero tolerance for unsafe practices.
- Achieve compliance with all HSE regulations and organizational policies.

Commissioning & Project Handover
- Oversee testing, commissioning, integrated system testing, and project closeout.
- Ensure seamless handover to operations with complete documentation.
- Drive lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives.

Leadership & People Management
- Lead and mentor Project Directors, Project Managers, Site Engineers, and MEP execution teams.
- Build high-performing project organizations.
- Drive performance management, capability development, and succession planning.

Mandatory Requirements

- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Master's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Business Management is preferred.
- 12–20 years of experience in executing large-scale MEP projects.
- Minimum 8 years in a senior leadership role managing multiple concurrent projects.
- Proven experience delivering projects valued above ₹500 Crores (or equivalent).
- Strong understanding of EPC project lifecycle and project governance.
- Expertise in HVAC, Electrical Systems, Fire Protection, Plumbing, ELV, BMS, UPS, DG, Chillers, Cooling Systems, and Mission-Critical Infrastructure.
- Experience in contract management, commercial negotiations, and risk management.
- Robust knowledge of project scheduling tools such as Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
- Familiarity with BIM, AutoCAD, Revit, and digital construction tools is preferred.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
