- Target Goal: To advance printed and flexible device technologies for real-world deployment in Energy, Sensors, and Healthcare applications
- New product development: Printed and flexible sensors, flexible energy storage/harvesting devices, wearable and implantable healthcare devices
- Consultancy projects: In the field of printed electronics, flexible device fabrication, and nanomaterial-based device engineering
- New research outcome: Scalable fabrication processes for flexible/printed devices that bridge lab-scale innovation with industry-ready prototypes
- Technology development or Technology transfer: To transfer printed and flexible device technologies to industry partners and support start-up creation in this domain
- Creation of higher TRL for existing innovation and timeline: Within 2 years TRL 3/4 and within 5 years TRL 5-6
Desired Skillset:
- Applicants should preferably hold a Ph.D. in Physics, Chemistry, Material Science, Flexible Electronics, Nanotechnology, or a closely related discipline from reputed institutions
- Should have sufficient experience in Research, and preferably Teaching & Industry, with reputed institutions
- Should have research papers published in International/National journals
- Should have books published and scholars awarded/currently working for (where applicable)
- Applicants with patents registered/consultancy work carried out in flexible or printed electronics will be given preference
- Exposure in handling high-value funded projects and in setting up laboratory infrastructure or research start-ups will be an added advantage
Preferred Qualifications: Ph.D. in Physics, Chemistry, Material Science, Flexible Electronics, Nanotechnology, or allied streams, with valuable academic records.
Responsibilities:
Academics:
- Classroom presentation and laboratory instruction (as applicable to role)
- Development of learning resource materials and laboratory development
- Student assessment & evaluation, including university examination work
- Participation in co-curricular & extracurricular activities
- Student guidance, counselling & mentorship in personal, ethical, and overall character development
- Keeping abreast of new knowledge and skills; generating and disseminating knowledge through publications, seminars, and handouts
- Continuing self-development through upgraded qualifications, experience & professional activities
Research & Consultancy:
- Drive interdisciplinary collaboration for strong research outcomes in flexible devices using advanced nanotechnology approaches
- Establish state-of-the-art laboratory infrastructure and initiate start-ups dedicated to printed and flexible devices
- Spearhead high-impact research in printed and flexible devices, with focus on Energy, Sensors, and Healthcare applications
- Provide consultancy and testing services in material science and flexible electronics
- Promote industry–institution interaction and R&D;, bridging industry-academia gaps toward commercialization of flexible device technologies
- Pursue external research grants and core funding to support the centre's research goals
Academic / Administration:
- Contribute to academic and administrative management of the institution/centre
- Policy planning, monitoring & evaluation, and promotional activities at the department and institution level
- Design and development of new research programmes
- Prepare project proposals for funding in R&D;, laboratory development, modernization, and expansion
- Support administration at departmental & institutional levels
- Monitor and evaluate academic and research activities, including CNR's publication output
- Help mobilize resources for the institution
- Plan and implement staff development activities
- Support extension/industrial connectivity and interaction with industry and society
- Promote entrepreneurship, including start-up creation in printed and flexible devices
- Disseminate knowledge and provide technical support in areas of social relevance
- Undertake any other relevant work assigned by the Dean/Centre Head
