Job Purpose:
The Site Compliance Officer is responsible for ensuring full statutory and labour law compliance at the construction site. The role involves monitoring contractor compliance, maintaining labour records, ensuring statutory obligations such as PF, ESI, and PT are adhered to, and coordinating with authorities during inspections. The position plays a critical role in minimizing legal risks and ensuring smooth site operations in accordance with labour regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Labour Law Compliance
- Monitor and ensure site-wise compliance with applicable labour laws and statutory regulations.
- Track compliance related to Provident Fund (PF), Employees State Insurance (ESI), Skilled Tax (PT) and other statutory requirements.
- Ensure compliance with Workmen Compensation Policy and other worker welfare regulations.
Contractor Compliance & Documentation
- Verify contractor licenses, registrations, and statutory documentation.
- Maintain records of contractor agreements, labour licenses, and statutory approvals.
- Map workers to respective contractors and ensure proper documentation is maintained.
Labour Records & Wage Compliance
- Monitor attendance, muster rolls,
wage registers, and other statutory labour records.
- Ensure wage payments are made in compliance with labour laws, preferably through bank transfers rather than cash payments.
- Verify contractor compliance with wage payment timelines and statutory deductions.
Worker Documentation & Identity Management
- Manage worker KYC documentation and ID card issuance.
- Maintain a centralized database of workers deployed at the site.
Inspection & Audit Management
- Coordinate and handle labour department inspections and statutory audits.
- Track inspection observations and ensure timely corrective actions and closure.
- Conduct monthly site compliance audits and submit detailed MIS reports.
Documentation & Reportin
- Maintain centralized compliance documentation for audit readiness.
- Prepare and submit monthly compliance reports, audit reports, and risk updates to management.
Required Skills:
- Understanding of PF, ESI, PT and wage compliance regulations.
- 7-9 years of experience in relevant field.
- Good documentation, audit handling, and reporting skills.
- Ability to coordinate with contractors, site teams, and government authorities.
