Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Assignment Senior with 5–7 years of experience in the media/news industry. The candidate should have strong knowledge of news assignment, newsroom coordination, news gathering, and editorial operations.

Key Responsibilities

- Handle day-to-day news assignments and coordinate with reporters, correspondents, and field teams.
- Identify and prioritize important news stories based on news value, urgency, and audience interest.
- Coordinate with reporters for breaking news, developing stories, events, and special coverage.
- Monitor news agencies, social media, television channels, websites, and other sources for news updates.
- Allocate assignments to reporters and ensure timely coverage.
- Follow up with field teams regarding story progress, live updates, visuals, and reports.
- Coordinate closely with News Editors, Output Editors, Producers, and Digital teams.
- Verify basic facts and ensure that relevant information is available before stories are processed.
- Maintain effective communication between the newsroom and field reporters.
- Handle breaking news situations and ensure quick deployment of reporters.
- Track ongoing assignments and ensure timely submission of content.
- Support the editorial team in planning special coverage, exclusive stories, and major events.

Required Skills




- Strong knowledge of Assignment Desk / News Assignment operations.
- Good understanding of news gathering and newsroom workflow.
- Strong knowledge of current affairs and news developments.
- Excellent coordination and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
- Ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously.
- Good decision-making and prioritization skills.
- Knowledge of TV, Digital, Print, or Online Media operations is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of newsroom and digital media tools will be an advantage.

Eligibility
- 5–7 years of relevant experience in Assignment Desk / Newsroom / Media operations.
- Media industry experience is mandatory.
- Candidates with experience in News Channels, Digital News Platforms, Newspapers, or Media Houses will be preferred.
- Graduate / Postgraduate in Journalism, Mass Communication, Media Studies, or a related field preferred.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
