Job Summary The Area Sales Manager will be responsible for driving sales growth, expanding market coverage, managing distributors, and ensuring the achievement of sales targets across the Delhi NCR region. The role requires strong leadership, market development, team management, and channel sales expertise in the FMCG sector.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development

- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for the assigned territory.
- Develop and implement effective sales strategies to increase market share.
- Identify new business opportunities and expand distribution networks.
- Ensure product availability and visibility across all retail channels.
- Drive secondary sales through distributors and retail outlets.

Distributor Management

- Appoint, develop, and manage distributors within the assigned territory.
- Monitor distributor performance, inventory levels, and sales growth.
- Ensure timely collection of payments and outstanding dues.
- Resolve distributor-related operational and commercial issues.

Market Expansion

- Increase market penetration in General Trade and Wholesale channels.
- Identify new retail outlets and key accounts for business development.
- Conduct market surveys to analyze competitor activities and pricing strategies.
- Implement promotional and trade marketing activities effectively.

Team Management

- Lead, train, and motivate Sales Officers, Territory Sales Officers, and Sales Representatives.
- Conduct regular field visits and joint market working.
- Monitor team performance and provide coaching for improvement.
- Ensure adherence to company sales processes and policies.





Retail Execution

- Ensure proper product placement, merchandising, and visibility at retail outlets.
- Monitor stock availability and minimize out-of-stock situations.
- Execute promotional campaigns and product launches effectively.
- Maintain strong relationships with retailers and key customers.

Reporting & Analysis

- Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports.
- Analyze sales trends, market data, and business performance.
- Track competitor activities and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate sales forecasts and territory planning.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Commerce, or related field.
- MBA in Sales & Marketing preferred.

Experience

- 5–10 years of FMCG sales experience.
- Minimum 2–4 years of experience as an Area Sales Manager or equivalent role.
- Solid knowledge of Delhi NCR FMCG market and distribution channels.
