Job Purpose: To lead the implementation, optimization, and maintenance of Advanced Process Control (APC) systems across refinery units, ensuring enhanced profitability, product quality,
and operational stability. The role involves close collaboration with stakeholders, technical teams, and vendors to deliver high-value APC solutions.
Process Control & Optimization
- Analyse plant operations and constraints through data review and stakeholder discussions
- Design, configure, simulate, and commission APC controllers
- Tune PID control loops and develop recent control schemes
- Conduct step tests, dynamic modelling, and benefit studies
- Monitor and improve analyser/system performance
System Implementation & Maintenance
- Implement and monitor MS/HSD blending automation systems
- Maintain and troubleshoot APC systems and interfaces with DCS
- Coordinate with IT and vendors for system upgrades and issue resolution
Planning & Budgeting
- Develop feasibility and basic engineering inputs for APC projects
- Optimize project designs for cost and safety
- Prepare project monitoring reports and propose corrective actions
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Collaborate with Operations, Instrumentation (ISV), IT, and vendors
- Ensure timely resolution of technical issues with PMC and Process teams
Educational Qualifications
Graduate in Chemical Engineering
