Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Chemist to join our Residue Analysis Laboratory. The ideal candidate should have 4–6 years of hands-on experience in operating and troubleshooting advanced analytical instruments including LC-MS/MS, GC-MS/MS, HPLC, ICP-MS, and ICP-OES . The role involves method development, method validation, routine sample analysis, quality control, data interpretation, and ensuring compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis of pesticide residues, veterinary drug residues, contaminants, heavy metals, and other chemical residues in food, agricultural, environmental, and related samples.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot analytical instruments including:
- LC-MS/MS
- GC-MS/MS
- HPLC
- ICP-MS
- ICP-OES
- Develop, optimize, validate, and verify analytical methods as per international guidelines (SANTE, AOAC, ISO, EPA, etc.).
- Perform instrument calibration, preventive maintenance, and routine performance checks.
- Interpret chromatographic and mass spectrometric data accurately and prepare analytical reports.
- Review raw data, ensure data integrity, and maintain complete documentation in accordance with laboratory quality systems.
- Ensure compliance with ISO/IEC 17025, GLP, laboratory SOPs, and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in internal audits, proficiency testing (PT), quality control (QC), and corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Investigate out-of-specification (OOS)
and non-conforming results and recommend corrective actions.
- Mentor and guide junior chemists and laboratory technicians on analytical techniques and positive laboratory practices.
- Coordinate with laboratory management to ensure timely sample processing and reporting.
- Support laboratory accreditation, customer audits, and regulatory inspections.
- Maintain laboratory safety standards and ensure compliance with EHS policies.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree (M.Sc.) in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, or a related discipline.
- 4–6 years of relevant laboratory experience in a TIC, contract testing, food testing, environmental, pharmaceutical, or analytical laboratory.
Technical Skills
- Strong expertise in LC-MS/MS and GC-MS/MS operation and troubleshooting.
- Practical experience with HPLC, ICP-MS, and ICP-OES.
- Sound knowledge of chromatographic separation techniques and mass spectrometry principles.
- Experience in pesticide residue, veterinary drug residue, contaminants, and heavy metal analysis.
- Hands-on experience with method development and validation.
- Knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 laboratory quality systems.
- Familiarity with SANTE, AOAC, EPA, USP, and other analytical guidelines.
- Experience using laboratory software such as LIMS, MassHunter, Analyst, LabSolutions, Empower, ChemStation, or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of analytical calculations, uncertainty estimation, and quality control practices.
