AI Architect — Consultant (Part-Time, Leadership Role)

We're looking for a hands-on AI leader — someone who's currently architecting GenAI systems and leading teams, and wants a focused, high-impact part time engagement rather than a full-time seat.

This isn't a "help us get started" role. You'll own the technical direction for our AI initiatives, mentor a team of engineers, and be the final word on architecture decisions — in a fraction of the time of a full-time job.

This role is a fit if you:

- Are currently (or very recently) working as an AI/ML Architect, Staff/Principal AI Engineer, or AI Engineering Lead
- Have led or mentored a team of 3+ engineers in production GenAI/ML systems
- Want flexible, contract-based leadership work — advisory-level ownership without full-time hours

What You'll Own
- Set technical direction and architecture standards across our AI/GenAI product line
- Guide and review the work of junior AI engineers — coding, testing, deployment standards
- Own the responsible AI, evaluation, and observability practices for systems in production
- Partner with engineering, product, and data science leads to translate roadmap into working AI features
- Take PoCs to production-grade deployment — with real accountability for latency, cost, and reliability
- Keep our GenAI stack current — foundation models, multi-modal AI,



emerging techniques — and drive adoption where it moves the needle
- Ensure AI systems meet data privacy (GDPR, DPDP) and internal security standards

What You Bring
- 5+ years in software/ML engineering, including 2+ years hands-on with GenAI in production (not just POCs)
- Proven track record leading or architecting LLM-based systems — not just building features under someone else's design
- Strong Python + PyTorch/TensorFlow/Hugging Face Transformers
- Deep hands-on experience: prompt engineering, fine-tuning, RLHF, RAG architectures, embedding models, vector DBs
- Cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP) + containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) at production scale
- Solid MLOps practice: CI/CD for ML, model versioning, monitoring, drift detection
- Experience with LangChain, LlamaIndex, AutoGen, or similar orchestration frameworks
- Strong system design instincts — scalable, fault-tolerant AI services
- Comfortable communicating trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders
- Bachelor's/Master's in CS, AI/ML, Data Science, or equivalent practical experience
