An accounting assistant's job is to provide administrative support to accountants and other financial professionals. Their responsibilities include:

- Record keeping: Recording and filing cash transactions, invoices, and other financial documents
- Reconciling: Reconciling bank records and identifying discrepancies
- Processing: Processing payments, receivables, and expense requests
- Communicating: Communicating with clients and other team members to understand financial needs and report information
- Analyzing: Analyzing financial data to ensure it's accurate and up to date
- Supporting: Supporting accountants with basic bookkeeping and accounting tasks
- Managing: Managing payroll activities, releasing salaries, and scheduling client appointments
- Updating: Updating and maintaining procedural documentation





Accounting assistants should have excellent communication and organizational skills, and be proficient in accounting software and MS Excel. They should also be able to multitask, approach projects methodically, and be meticulous with their work. *
