About The Role The Staff Accountant role at Emergence offers an exciting opportunity to be an integral part of our finance team, supporting the financial consolidation process across multiple entities. This position is remote-based in India and is ideal for candidates with a strong background in U.S.

GAAP, accrual accounting, and month-end closing procedures. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing accurate and timely financial closes, preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and supporting audit processes. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, proactive problem-solving skills, and the ability to work efficiently within tight deadlines.

As part of our dynamic team, you will have the chance to work on complex financial processes, contribute to process improvements, and gain exposure to private equity-backed business scaling and consolidation accounting.





Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a solid foundation in accounting principles and hands-on experience in a multi-entity or consolidation environment. Specific qualifications include:

- Minimum of 3 years of staff-level accounting experience, with demonstrable mastery of U.S. GAAP, accrual accounting, and month-end close mechanics.
- Proficiency in ERP systems such as Sage Intacct, NetSuite, QuickBooks, Xero, or Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
- Advanced Excel skills, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, nested formulas, and the ability to develop reconciliation trackers independently.
- Experience preparing journal entries, performing reconciliations, and maintaining audit-ready documentation in a multi-entity environment.
- Attention to detail with a proactive approach to error detection and control building.
- CA (Qualified) or CA Fresher credentials are preferred, but not mandatory.

Responsibilities The Staff Accountant will be responsible for a variety of critical accounting functions, including:

- Completing month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing cycles on established schedules with zero material errors.
- Preparing and posting over 50 monthly journal entries, ensuring complete supporting documentation and accurate GL reconciliation within 48 hours.
- Reconciling more than 15 balance sheet accounts monthly,



investigating discrepancies, and maintaining roll-forward schedules for accruals.
- Maintaining and reconciling bank accounts, accounts receivable/payable subledgers, and fixed asset registers to the general ledger.
- Recording fixed asset additions, disposals, transfers, and calculating monthly depreciation with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
- Supporting internal and external audits by delivering well-organized, cross-referenced documentation promptly within 48 hours of request.
- Identifying process improvements to streamline the close cycle and enhance accuracy and efficiency.
