Role Description This is a full-time, in office Accountant – D2C E-commerce role based in Kolkata. The accountant will manage day-to-day financial operations related to online sales channels, including recording transactions, reconciling accounts, and monitoring cash flow.

Responsibilities include handling GST and other tax compliances, preparing invoices, maintaining ledgers, and assisting in month-end and year-end closing. The role will support budgeting and financial analysis for marketing campaigns, promotions, and inventory, as well as generate financial reports to help optimize D2C performance.



The accountant will collaborate with operations, e-commerce, and leadership teams to ensure accurate financial data and compliance with internal policies.

Qualifications

- Strong accounting and bookkeeping skills, including general ledger management, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Knowledge of D2C e-commerce financial workflows such as payment gateways, marketplace settlements, returns, and discounts.
- Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Tally, Zoho Books, or similar), Excel, and basic data analysis tools.
- Solid understanding of Indian taxation, including GST, TDS, and statutory compliance relevant to e-commerce operations.
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams, prioritize tasks, and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced setting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field; professional certifications (CA, CMA, or equivalent) are an advantage.
- Prior experience in D2C, FMCG, or e-commerce businesses is preferred.
- Strong communication skills and a detail-oriented, ethical approach to financial management.
