Job SummaryWe are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor with hands-on experience in Civil Construction, Infrastructure, Water Supply, STP, WTP, GWTP and Municipal Projects.
The candidate will be responsible for quantity estimation, BOQ preparation, rate analysis, billing, measurement, cost control, subcontractor billing, client billing and project quantity reconciliation.
The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of civil works, RCC, earthwork, roads, pipelines, water supply systems, STP/WTP structures, mechanical and electrical components, along with good understanding of project drawings, BOQ and contract conditions.
- Key Responsibilities1. Quantity Estimation & BOQPrepare detailed quantity take-offs from drawings, specifications and BOQ.
- Prepare and review Bill of Quantities (BOQ) for civil and infrastructure works.
- Calculate quantities for:

- Verify quantities against approved drawings and site measurements.
- Identify quantity variations between drawings, BOQ and actual site execution.
2. Water Supply / STP / WTP Quantity SurveyingExperience in measurement and quantity estimation of:
- DI / MS / HDPE / uPVC / CPVC pipelines
- Pipe laying and trench excavation
- Pipe fittings and specials
- Valves and chambers
- Pumping stations
- Water tanks and reservoirs
- STP / WTP civil structures
- SBR / MBBR / ASP treatment systems
- Equalization tanks
- Aeration tanks
- Clarifiers
- Sludge tanks
- Filter units
- Chemical rooms
- Pump rooms
- Administrative and utility buildings
- Roads, drains and compound walls
- Mechanical and electrical equipment quantities
- 3. Client BillingPrepare RA Bills / Running Account Bills based on actual site measurements.
- Prepare monthly client billing documents.
- Coordinate with site engineers for measurement verification.
- Prepare Measurement Sheets / Measurement Books (MB).
- Ensure billing quantities are supported by approved drawings and site records.
- Track certified quantities, submitted bills and payments.
- Follow up on bill certification and payment status.
- 4. Subcontractor BillingVerify subcontractor work quantities and bills.
- Check measurements against BOQ and approved rates.
- Prepare subcontractor payment certificates.
- Verify material consumption and wastage.
- Ensure deductions are correctly applied.
- Monitor subcontractor quantities against contract values.
- Identify excess quantities and variations before certification.
- 5. Rate Analysis & EstimationPrepare detailed rate analysis for civil and infrastructure items.
- Analyse material, labour, machinery and overhead costs.
- Prepare rates for non-BOQ / extra items.
- Compare project rates with current market rates.
- Assist in preparation of project estimates and budgets.
- Support tender estimation and commercial evaluation.
- 6. Variation & Additional WorksIdentify and document BOQ variations and additional works.
- Prepare variation statements.
- Prepare rate analysis for extra / substituted items.
- Maintain records for client approval of additional works.
- Track approved and pending variation quantities.
- Ensure additional works are properly documented before execution wherever required.
- 7. Quantity & Cost ControlMonitor actual quantities against BOQ quantities.
- Prepare Budget vs Actual Quantity reports.
- Monitor material consumption and wastage.
- Identify quantity deviations and cost overruns.
- Prepare project quantity reconciliation reports.
- Support Project Managers in controlling project costs.
- 8. Drawing & Technical CoordinationRead and understand civil, structural and infrastructure drawings.
- Coordinate with Project Managers, Site Engineers, Design Engineers and Consultants.
- Verify drawing revisions and their impact on quantities.
- Maintain quantity records based on latest approved drawings.
- Identify discrepancies between drawings, BOQ and site conditions.

Prepare regular Quantity, Billing and Cost Control MIS reports for management.
- Required QualificationB.E. / B.Tech / Diploma in Civil Engineering
- Quantity Surveying / Construction Management qualification will be an added advantage.
Required Experience3–7 years of relevant experience in Quantity Surveying / Billing / Estimation, preferably in:
- Civil Construction Projects
- Infrastructure Projects
- Water Supply Projects
- STP – Sewage Treatment Plant
- WTP – Water Treatment Plant
- GWTP – Ground Water Treatment Plant
- Pipeline Projects
- Pumping Station Projects
- Municipal / Corporation Projects

- EPC / DBOT Projects
- Required SkillsStrong knowledge of BOQ, Quantity Take-Off and Rate Analysis
- Excellent knowledge of Civil Construction Measurements
- Experience in RA Billing and Subcontractor Billing
- Knowledge of MB / Measurement Sheets
- Valuable understanding of construction drawings
- Knowledge of STP/WTP and water supply works
- Solid knowledge of Excel
- AutoCAD knowledge preferred
- ERP / Project Management Software knowledge preferred
- Good analytical and numerical skills
- Strong documentation and reporting skills
- Good communication and coordination skills
Preferred CandidateCandidates with experience in Government / Municipality / Corporation / Infrastructure / STP / WTP / Water Supply projects will be preferred.
Candidates who have handled client billing, subcontractor billing, quantity estimation, BOQ preparation, rate analysis, variation claims and project cost control will have an added advantage.
