Looking for a motion designer who can make the inside of a human body the most interesting thing on someone's feed.
Bangalore, Full-time, 3-7 years. Experience and Salary is adaptable for the right person.
Not many people get to say their day job saves lives.
Cent Health is a new health tech startup. We catch life-threatening diseases before a single symptom shows up. We do full-body scans and have the best machines and protocols in all of India. The product is built. The goal now is to move India from reacting to disease to catching it first, and save lives.
We're creating a category that doesn't exist here yet, in one of the fastest-growing spaces in the world. In the last six months we have moved with break neck speed: centres in Bangalore, Delhi and Mumbai, scaling to 20 by year-end, closing in on 10,000 scans soon. Joining the team means you will be early and actually building the brand rather than just maintaining or amplifying it.
We are looking for a motion designer who can take a fact that people nod at and ignore, and turn it into ten seconds they can't look away from.
Your role is a combination of an animator, a designer and a small-scale director.
This role would push your craft in a variety of ways: social and performance motion, the graphic language of our films, medical and anatomical visualisation, product and app motion, explainers that carry real science, title work, and the motion system that decides how the whole brand behaves when it moves.
Here's the real meaty part of the role: our entire product is looking inside a body that seems perfectly fine from the outside. Nobody has ever seen their own coronary artery. Nobody knows what a six-millimetre nodule looks like, or how long it sat there before it became a problem.
Motion is the only tool we have that can actually show that.
Done badly it becomes a horror film or a science documentary nobody watches. Done well it's the thing that makes a forty-year-old put down their phone and book a scan. Getting that line right, real enough to be true and restrained enough to be watchable, is most of the job.
The second half of it is volume. We publish constantly, and every piece has to look like it came from the same confident brand. That means building a system, not just making films one at a time.
This is a hands-on, high-craft role with an unusual amount of creative say for the level.
Interesting work only comes from interesting people, so we're hiring for it. The following things matter more than your education, the company you worked for or what's on your resume.
- Real design chops underneath the motion. Type, composition and colour, not just keyframes and easing.
- You can make something abstract, invisible or clinical feel physical and emotional without turning it into gore.
- High taste, judgment; someone who has a sharp point of view on things and can defend it.
- Deep feel for how content and new-age media actually work, and the pulse of aspirational and affluent India. You know what dies in the first second on a feed and why.
- Right brain first, instinct and craft, but able to hold your own on the idea, not only the execution.
- Fluent in your tools and curious about new ones, including 3D and AI, without letting the tool pick the idea.
- Obsessed with the craft; smart, self-starting, doesn't wait for a brief.
Solid proof of work: things you made that actually shipped, moved numbers, or got talked about.
The process (the bar is high)
Fill out the application form, attach your reel and resume
Complete a short assignment that tests your creativity, taste and judgment (will be shared post shortlist)
References from people who have worked with you before are a must (we will ask for this when you clear the first or second interview round)
