Role Description This is a full-time, in office Hand Embroidery Designer role based in Chennai. The Hand Embroidery Designer will create and develop embroidery designs for garments, adapting concepts provided by the fashion design team into detailed handwork samples. Daily responsibilities include sketching motifs, selecting appropriate threads and materials, executing hand embroidery on fabric, and ensuring consistency and quality across pieces. The role involves collaborating with pattern makers and fitting teams to align embroidery placement with garment structure, and working closely with production staff to translate designs into scalable processes. The designer will also review samples, make corrections, and maintain design documentation and reference swatches.

Qualifications





- Strong skills in Embroidery and practical experience creating detailed hand-embroidered designs.
- Ability to collaborate on Fashion Design and Fashion concepts, translating ideas into embroidery artwork.
- Understanding of Textiles, including fabric types, textures, and behavior under different embroidery techniques.
- Knowledge of Fitting and garment construction to ensure embroidery placement supports proper fit and comfort.
- Attention to detail, color sense, and design aesthetics suitable for contemporary and traditional styles.
- Ability to follow design specifications, meet production timelines, and maintain consistent quality standards.
- Prior experience in apparel, couture, or ethnic wear design is an advantage.
- Formal training in fashion, textile design, or a related discipline is preferred, or equivalent practical experience.
