VP – HR Tech

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Software Engineer to join our HR Technology group. This role is pivotal in designing and implementing modern technology solutions that support the organization’s global Human Resources (HR) functions. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in HR systems and workforce technology, a proven track record of leading development teams, and experience architecting solutions that integrate custom applications with enterprise HR SaaS platforms.

As the Software Engineer, you will define the technical strategy, lead the development of scalable and secure systems, and ensure alignment with global HR and workforce management requirements. You will also play a key role in fostering a collaborative, high‑performing team workplace, creating technical roadmaps, and driving the vision and strategic planning for HR technology solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Solution Architecture

- Design and implement scalable, secure, and high‑performing architecture for HR systems, leveraging AWS infrastructure and SaaS platforms.

- Develop technical roadmaps and strategies that align with business objectives and HR technology priorities.

- Ensure solutions meet global HR standards, including employee data privacy, security, and regulatory compliance.

- Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools to enhance HR system capabilities and performance.

Custom Application Development

- Architect and oversee the development of custom applications using C#, Python, Terraform, and AWS services.

- Define best practices for cloud‑native development and ensure adherence to coding standards.

- Collaborate with development teams to deliver high‑quality, maintainable software solutions tailored to HR and workforce management needs.

SaaS Platform Integration





- Lead the implementation and integration of HR SaaS platforms commonly used in HR workflows, including Workday, ServiceNow HRSD, and other workforce systems.

- Design robust integrations between SaaS systems and internal applications using APIs, middleware, and integration frameworks.

- Ensure seamless data flow, interoperability, and compliance with global employee data privacy regulations.

Vision and Strategic Planning

- Define the long‑term vision for HR technology solutions, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and HR strategies.

- Help develop and maintain a multi‑year roadmap for HR technology, balancing innovation, scalability, and workforce priorities.

- Identify and address gaps in current HR systems and processes, driving modernization and continuous improvement.

- Partner with HR leadership to align technology initiatives with workforce strategies and organizational objectives.

Team Building and Leadership

- Build, mentor, and lead a high‑performing development team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.

- Provide technical leadership and guidance to team members, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines.

- Encourage professional growth and skill development within the team.

- Promote open communication and collaboration across teams, ensuring alignment with stakeholders and business partners.

Global HR Technology Expertise

- Stay informed about HR technology trends, workforce platforms, and best practices to ensure solutions meet evolving HR needs.

- Collaborate with international teams to address region‑specific HR requirements.

- Implement security best practices to protect sensitive employee and workforce data across global operations.

Qualifications

Blackstone seeks to hire individuals who work well in a team-driven working group, are highly motivated, intelligent, have sound judgment and have demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors.

Required Skills and Experience

- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

- 10+ years of software development and architecture experience, with at least 5 years in a lead role.

- Proven experience with HR systems, including designing solutions for HR workflows and workforce management processes.

- Hands‑on experience with AWS infrastructure and SaaS platform integration.

Technical Skills

- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and C#.

- Strong understanding of cloud architecture, DevOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines.

- Familiarity with containerization tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with HR SaaS platforms (e.g., Workday, ServiceNow HRSD, HR analytics platforms).

- Certification in AWS (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect).

- Knowledge of employee data privacy regulations and HR compliance frameworks.

- Experience working in a global organization with multinational teams.

Key Competencies

- Deep knowledge of AWS infrastructure and cloud‑native development.

- Expertise in SaaS platform implementation and integration for HR systems.

- Strong understanding of microservices architecture, APIs, and middleware tools.

- Experience with HR workflows and workforce systems (e.g., onboarding, employee lifecycle management, talent systems).

- Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with global HR stakeholders.





- Commitment to fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.

- Demonstrated experience defining and executing a long-term vision for HR technology.

- Proven experience building, mentoring, and leading high-performing development teams.

- Experience developing and maintaining multi‑year technology roadmaps aligned with workforce priorities.
