WSP is currently seeking an Associate - Rail Modelling & Simulation to join our Rail and Transit team in Bengaluru, IN. Applicant will lead and Manage the Rail Modelling & Simulation team, the applicant will have experience in rail network and operational simulations using software such as OpenTrack, RTC, RailSys, and Traction Power simulations using OpenPowerNet.
Responsibilities
- Undertake a lead technical role on rail planning and operations modelling projects;
- Oversee and undertake modelling and simulation analysis for various rail transit operations and design applications including rail operations, traction power, and pedestrian flow, using industry standard tools and techniques;
- Perform operational analysis and rail network design using data and modelling driven approaches;
- Gathering inputs and assessing the further requirements in close coordination with lead country counterparts.
- Be able to take own initiatives and able to read the complicated track/route alignment drawings to extract necessary required information and present in an organized manner.
- Strong understanding of traction power supply system, sectioning diagrams, for noth AC and DC systems.
- Good Understanding regarding Traction Substation Layout, connection schemes, electrical components and their parameterization.
- Able te interpret the simulation results and perform necessary analysis and suggest applicable upgrades to meet the requires BS-EN/IEC/IEEE requirements.
- Validate system design requirements through operational performance analysis and rail network planning;
- Train and mentor junior rail planners and operations modellers;
- Contribute to the growth and development of the Canadian Modelling and Simulation team, and integration to the WSP Global Modelling and Simulation network;
- Contribute to the development of tools to automate work processes and analyse / visualize simulation and modelling output;
- Manage the technical quality of work performed by other team members;
- Manage work on multiple projects as well as contribute to pursuits and proposals of varying complexity and size;
Qualifications
- Educated to Bachelor / Master’s degree level related discipline within Mechanical Engineering.
- Seasoned professional with at least 12 years’ experience in design, project management, and project delivery in a consulting engineering environment.
- Chartered Engineer status of a recognised qualified institution (e.g. ICE, CIWEM) is preferred.
