Role Purpose
The Transition Manager will be responsible for planning, governing, and executing client and internal transition projects for the Transition Management Office. The role will ensure seamless project initiation, stakeholder alignment, technology readiness, risk control, and timely handover to operations, while maintaining a zero-surprise delivery posture for leadership and clients.
Key Responsibilities
Transition and Project Governance
- Own end-to-end transition project execution from initiation through stabilization and formal handover.
- Create and maintain detailed project plans, including milestones, dependencies, RACI, action trackers, and GANTT charts.
- Conduct project kickoff meetings with internal teams and client stakeholders to confirm scope, governance, timelines, success criteria, and escalation paths.
- Drive Go/No-Go Tollgate reviews at critical transition stages, ensuring readiness across people, process, technology, training, infrastructure, quality, and operations.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within approved budget, and in line with agreed transition methodology and governance expectations.
Risk Management and Zero-Surprise Delivery
- Identify, document, prioritize, and mitigate transition risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies throughout the project lifecycle.
- Maintain a zero-surprise governance approach by proactively flagging risks, delays, decision needs, and dependency gaps to leadership and stakeholders.
- Develop mitigation and contingency plans for high-impact risks related to technology, hiring, training, client readiness, volume ramp-up, and operational handover.
- Track and communicate project health through dashboards, status reports, risk logs, issue logs, and leadership updates.
Stakeholder and Cross-Functional Management
- Manage internal and client stakeholders with structured communication, timely updates, effective follow-ups, and clear decision documentation.
- Coordinate closely with Training, Talent Acquisition, Resource Management, IT, Admin, Operations, Quality, Workforce Management, and other enabling functions to ensure timely project completion.
- Facilitate cross-functional meetings, unblock dependencies, and ensure accountability for deliverables across all participating teams.
- Build trusted client relationships through disciplined governance, transparent communication, responsiveness, and strong domain credibility.
Technology Implementation and Tool Adoption
- Ensure timely implementation of required technology components, access readiness, workflow tools, reporting mechanisms, and infrastructure support for each transition.
- Drive adoption and disciplined usage of in-house tools such as PACT, Compass PM, and DHD for project tracking, reporting, documentation, and governance.
- Partner with technology teams to incorporate Gen AI based tools and automation opportunities in day-to-day transition execution where applicable.
- Evaluate project workflows for opportunities to improve speed, transparency, documentation quality, risk detection, and stakeholder communication using digital and AI-enabled tools.
Handover, Stabilization, and Closure
- Ensure timely and structured handover of transitioned processes to operations, including documentation, controls, open items, risk actions, performance baselines, and stakeholder sign-offs.
- Monitor stabilization progress and support operational readiness until agreed exit criteria are met.
- Document lessons learned, best practices, reusable templates, and improvement opportunities for the Transition Management Office.
- Ensure closure documentation, project sign-offs, tollgate evidence, and knowledge repositories are complete and audit-ready.
Required Experience and Domain Expertise
- 10 to 12 years of overall professional experience, preferably with significant exposure to US Healthcare RCM operations and transition management.
- Proven experience managing client transitions, process migrations, new process launches, ramp-ups, and cross-functional implementation programs.
- Strong understanding of healthcare RCM workflows such as patient access, billing, coding, AR follow-up, denial management, payment posting, credit balance, and related back-office operations.
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects, competing priorities, tight timelines, stakeholder escalations, and governance reviews in a matrixed environment.
- Experience working with US client stakeholders and global delivery teams will be strongly preferred.

Education and Certifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare administration, technology, operations, or a related field; postgraduate qualification will be an advantage.
- Project Management certification such as PMP or PRINCE2 is required or strongly preferred based on role fit.
- Lean Six Sigma certification, quality certification, or process improvement credentials will be an added advantage.
- Certification, structured training, or strong hands-on exposure to AI tools, Gen AI productivity platforms, automation, or digital transformation will be a good-to-have differentiator.

Preferred Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is a structured transition leader with strong US Healthcare RCM domain knowledge, hands-on project governance experience, and the confidence to manage client-facing transitions in a matrixed environment. The individual should be comfortable balancing tactical execution with executive communication, proactively identifying risks, driving cross-functional accountability, and using technology, including Gen AI based tools, to improve transition effectiveness.
