About the Role
We're looking for a Career Counselor to work with us on a contract basis. This is a counseling-led sales role: you'll speak with inbound student leads, understand their career goals, and guide them toward the right SkillCred stream — converting conversations into enrollments for our pilot cohorts.
Responsibilities
Connect with inbound leads (from ads, website, referrals, college outreach) via calls/messages and convert them into enrolled students
Run 1:1 counseling conversations to understand a student's goals and recommend the right stream/specialization
Clearly communicate SkillCred's value — mentor verification, project-based learning,
Career Hub access — to move leads toward enrollment
Follow up consistently with warm leads and maintain a healthy conversion pipeline
Track counseling/conversion metrics and report on lead status, objections, and outcomes
Coordinate with the marketing team on lead quality and messaging feedback
Requirements
Experience in admissions counseling, inside sales, tele-counseling, or ed-tech/education sales (freshers-to-tech-jobs counseling experience is a strong plus)
Comfortable owning a conversion target and working with a lead pipeline
Robust communication and persuasion skills; confident on calls and in follow-ups
Familiarity with the tech/IT hiring landscape helps build credibility with students
Based in or able to work with students in Chennai; open to remote/hybrid arrangements
