ROLE

The Clinical Psychologist will be responsible for the psychological assessment and management of patients presenting with a range of emotional, behavioural, psychological, and adjustment-related concerns.

The role involves independent clinical work as well as appropriate collaboration with other healthcare professionals when a multidisciplinary approach is indicated.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct structured clinical interviews and comprehensive psychological assessments.

• Establish appropriate clinical formulations based on presenting concerns, history, behavioural patterns, psychosocial factors, and available clinical information.

• Use standardized psychological and psychometric assessments appropriately and within professional scope.

• Identify psychological, emotional, behavioural, and psychosocial factors contributing to the patient's presentation.

• Develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical assessment and formulation.

• Provide evidence-based psychological interventions appropriate to the patient's clinical needs.

• Monitor treatment response and review clinical outcomes over the course of care.

• Conduct appropriate risk assessment, including assessment of self-harm, suicide risk, abuse, neglect, or other relevant safeguarding concerns.

• Recognize situations requiring psychiatric, medical, emergency, or other specialist referral and coordinate care appropriately.

• Maintain clear, accurate, confidential, and contemporaneous clinical documentation.

• Prepare psychological assessment reports and clinical summaries when required.

• Provide appropriate psychoeducation to patients and caregivers.

• Maintain clear professional boundaries and uphold confidentiality at all times.





• Participate in multidisciplinary discussions when psychological input is clinically relevant.

• Communicate psychological findings to other healthcare professionals appropriately while maintaining patient confidentiality and professional boundaries.

• Maintain appropriate follow-up and outcome documentation.

• Remain current with evidence-based psychological practice, clinical research, and professional standards.

The candidate should be able to select and apply an intervention based on clinical formulation rather than relying on a single therapeutic approach for every patient.

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Appropriate postgraduate qualification in Clinical Psychology recognized under applicable Indian regulations.

• Valid RCI registration / Central Rehabilitation Register (CRR), where applicable to the professional's qualification and scope of practice.





• Demonstrable supervised and/or independent clinical experience appropriate to the level of the position.

• Strong understanding of qualified ethics, confidentiality, informed consent, documentation, and clinical boundaries.

• Ability to recognize the limits of one's own scope of practice and make appropriate referrals when required.

EXPERIENCE

2+ years of relevant clinical experience is preferred.

Experience in a hospital, mental health service, multidisciplinary clinical setting, or established psychological practice will be an advantage.

Candidates with strong clinical training and appropriate professional credentials may also be considered based on competency and role fit.
