Job Description

- Oversee the day-to-day management of peer review and Journal Editorial Office operations in collaboration with Editorial Assistants (EAs) and Team Leads (TLs).
- Supervise and evaluate the performance of editors, EAs, across the assigned journal portfolio, ensuring high-quality delivery and adherence to service standards.
- Drive continuous improvement by executing workflow optimization initiatives, adopting peer review best practices, and aligning with industry standards.
- Focus on value-add strategies to enhance speed to decision, author experience, and the integrity of manuscripts and peer review workflows.
- Proficiency on peer review systems (e.g., ScholarOne, Editorial Manager, etc.)
- Liaise with production teams to ensure accurate and timely issue production and resolution of production-related queries.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date journal documentation, including author guidelines, journal webpages, and editorial office documentation.
- Manage correspondence regarding the appointment,



onboarding, and transitions of editors, associate editors, and board members.
- Support Open Access–specific peer review management tasks, ensuring compliance with OA policies and workflows.
- Ensure EAs remain focused on tactical day-to-day tasks, including submission processing and professional communication with authors, editors, and coordinators, with oversight from TLs.
- Collaborate on strategic journal and portfolio-level responsibilities, providing system insights, workflow consultation, and support that drives efficiency.
- Generate operational and strategic reports for editorial boards, publishers, and societies.
- Maintain robust engagement with reviewers and editorial board members by supporting recognition programs, onboarding, and retention initiatives.
- Respond to escalated author, reviewer, and editor queries in a timely, professional manner, ensuring high levels of stakeholder satisfaction.
